personally i like to tchooo after winning a point.

i need to pump up myself. if i don't tchooo during a match its either my opponent is too weak and i will save some mental energy for a better opponent, or im not doing well at all in my match. in a sense, if im quiet it should ring an alarm and i should change something.

i tchooo the same way for a training match than for a competition match.

like Harimoto i am always respectful of my opponent. i think Harimoto has an excellent mentality and he is a model for me, not just for his tchoooing but for his attacking game close to the table.

if my opponent tchooo as well, usually it pumps me up as well and keeps me focused.

i am much more disturbed by opponents talking loud between points.

Funny, but I like to chooole too. The way I do it, sounds quite peculiar in polish (polish guys will know "c(i)uuuleee" ; ) Sort of like I am almost cursing at somebody. It became like one of the characteristics of my game in this cyclic tournament.
Once I was a little quiet and my oponent felt disappointed that I was not choooleing him ?! Almost like I was disrespecting him and asked me what happened ... world is weird sometimes ... ; )

I also choo after a winner just to make sure that all five spectators know that I have won the point. Sometimes I even choo after my topspin missed the table just to claim that point as well because who shouts oud loud first actually does win the point no matter what has happened at the table. Between two sets my coach and me just CHOO at each other for one minute, that really pumps me up and lets me choo even louder during the next set. Louder choos --> more points to claim --> easy win.

Oh, of course there are. Pistej, for one, is not a fan.

Yeah, but Pistej admitted in an interview after the WTTC match, he was trying to provoke Tomokazu. I heard Ashanta complaining like 2 years ago, but I guess everybody gave it up, because the Kid is winning. To complain about shouting while you lost, does not make you look good, does it.

Which tournament was it where Achanta complained about him?

Ahh ... can't really remember ... There was an interview with him in which he was basically making fun of Harimoto's loudness, talking about the earplugs he needs to use.

The best i"ve read so far.
Must try the chooing in between the sets too, sounds very motivating.
Imagine the faces when Hari would do that too.
