If you are high level, but do not play, but only coach, you drop a LOT of level.

If you are high level, but stop playing and get a desk/chair job, you drop even more level.

It has to be something along those lines.

Tawny has no time to train between all the coaching she does and running the club and tournaments.

Plus LATTA was recently fully renovated and she's still working on more improvements.

There is actually a gigantic world of difference between 2497 and 2600+. But someone who was at one point very high level can stay at a decent level.

Just for ideas, even though it sounds like 100-175 point difference that we are talking about above, lets just even numbers out, the difference between just barely 2500 and comfortably 2600 is a bigger difference than the difference between 1600 2000. As you get to the higher and higher levels, the difference becomes more stark.

From 1800 to 1900 is a bigger gap than from 1700 to 1800. From 1900 to 2000 is bigger than 1800-1900. From 2000 to 2100 is bigger than from 1900-2000 and then the gaps get exponentially bigger after that where it is hard to understand how much it takes to get from 2300 to 2400, from 2400-2500 and so on.

Exactly!

For sure!

Or if you're up in LA too.

Do you play at ASLT or UCSD?

I have been to ASLT just to watch, but have never played there. Some friends play there though.

Never played at UCSD, but I have some UCSD student friends who play there. And a friend coaches the UCSD club.

I usually play at community rec centers here and there.
