I use the Nittaku Hammond Z2 (Made in Japan by Daiki just like the Stiga Mantras), it's a 50 deg fast rubber similar to regular Tenergy 05 but feels more controllable.

I really want to see more daiki rubbers come out. These guys are quite awesome. Yasaka could really use a new series to breathe some life into their brand.

But maybe Friendship or DhS could use something to break in to this market.

lol. I'm looking forward to your review, but why are you so loyal to Stiga??

If you want to test a Daiki rubber, why not just get Z2 already?

Just because I felt in love with their blades "Wood Feeling".
And being a kid I played very well in the Nationals in Chile 🇨🇱
I love innovations too, maybe because I'm an electronics engineer 🤓. My Cybershape PH, DNA DG on FH and DNA Platinum H on BH are a nice Combo.
But I'm looking for a lighter Combo too, to avoid some injuries in my wrist "In the Future" 😉.

Why does Stiga use this black carbon instead of the arylate-carbon such as DHS HL5? If you want better feeling, wouldn't the arylate-carbon provide softer touch?

What is your total weight on that blade with them rubbers? Should be around 200g. And that's heavy if so for a penhold. My last penhold was 169 and thought it was a great weight.

I've copied Stiga's performance ratings from their website into the table below, and it looks like the Mantro Pro rubber is just a slightly slower rubber than the comparable DNA rubber at each hardness category.

Granted that we take manufacturers' performance ratings with a pinch of salt, but even so, Stiga themselves rate Mantra Pro as being only fractionally different to DNA: slightly slower, fractionally more/less spin, and a little easier to control.

I'm a bit puzzled as to why they would invest in the production of a new rubber series that is so minimally different to an existing series. Is the strategy to produce rubbers aimed specifically at mid-level players (i.e. most of us)? Or maybe the DNA Pro series isn't selling well and they plan to phase it out and replace it with Mantra Pro which, maybe, is cheaper to manufacture?

I have similar questions about Xiom's J&H series. I don't really understand where it fits in relation to the Omega 7 series. This is one area in which Butterfly does better than any other: their product range is much easier to understand.

Mantra Pro M (47)14813582
DNA Pro M (47.5)15613478
DNA Platinum M (47.5)16014076

DNA Platinum H (50)16414074
Mantra Pro XH (53)15613578

Yea, I'm also hoping Mantra Pro in M is good.

I could always use a cheaper alternative to T05 FX but haven't found anything I like nearly as much for my backhand.

I love Z2 for Daiki on my forehand, so if the M is that level of quality, it could be very promising!

Is the z2 too fast or uncontrollable on bh in your opinion? How is the z2 in short play? Incoming spin?

Hey Zion 🙌,
Total weight is 193 grs. I remember those days using just one rubber 😆. And the 1st month when I put the rubber for RPB.
2 things totally different but absolutely worth 👌

Well this is with two rubbers not just one.
I've used stiga hybridwood nct penhold and tenergy 05fx 1.9 with friendship 80-20 short pips 1.7 and that did the trick 😀

Maybe just another 47 deg from another mother/father? Thick sponge, thin rubber.

79 grams that must be beacuse it's a penhold blade. The carbon is usually around high 80s and sometimes over 90s from thoose I've seen.

79 is considered light in penhold.
the range is quite big for any blade, so there isn't a true theory that penhold is lighter than shakehand.
if the range is say +/- 5 grams. Your +5 in pen and -5 in shake, could end up with having a heavier pen.

I normally ask for 82 grams for my pen nowadays.
I used to ask for 84 grams.

and then i have rubbers at about 104 grams combined, making it 188 or so

Yes my new blade which should come next week hopefully is 85 g which was a good surprise.
Still hesitating which FH rubber to get though. Looking at the new mantra pro also. But kinda interested in mayby trying out the hammond Z2 also.

I bet either will be good. Daiki seems to be the rising star in TT rubbers
