They cost pretty much the same, what's your experience with either of them?

I've seen that hurricane 3 has been used by pretty much everyone, while the only pros that use skyline, 2 or 3, are penholders.

Is there any particular reason for that?

With the same sponge hardness, when hit through the rubber with full strength, Skyline 2 produces more spin and power than H3. Traditional penholders used to swing their entire body for third ball attack, and that goes well with Skyline 2.

Another reason is that Skyline 2 has a tackier and harder topsheet than H3. That gives you the “dead” feel during service and short game. The feature helps penholders to have a precise control near the net.

There’s no reason why SH players can’t play with Skyline 2.

So if you get more spin and power then why would anyone use H3? Is there less control?

H3 is easier to play with, it feels more intuitive to play with. I can pick up an h3 and be fine with it immediately. I could never work with my tg2 though.

No, but the requirements for more spin and power are significantly higher than with H3.

It is easier to generate speed with H3 though, but i suppose the topend speed would be lower.

So in other words Skyline needs more racquet speed to generate spin? Doesn't that just mean it's not as spinny?

The original H2 was designed for WLQ/Yan Sen.
The original H3 was not designed for any specific player but Liu Guozheng became the representative figure after WTTC 2001.
The original TG2/TG3 were designed for MLin/WH, respectively.
The original H2/H3 and TG2/TG3 were way more different than their Neo counterparts.

In low to medium impact, H3 gives you more power. But the new H3 is not tacky, so the power and speed is even higher than Skyline 2 in low to medium impact.

In thin brushing Skyline 2 is spinnier than H3. It’s just that, to achieve the same speed, Skyline 2 requires more strength than H3.

Skyline 2 is always a spin monster

I haven't tried TG2 a ton, only a bit so I can't really give a review about that though I can give a TG3 vs H3:

In my personal opinion, the H3 feels faster and more powerful. It doesn't require as much strength and allows for a good amount of spin. You can execute a "nothing shot" without needing to generate much quality. In contrast, the TG3 is slightly slower and requires more power. However, if you have that power, the resulting shot has more spin and better quality compared to the H3. I also find that the arc of the H3 is slightly higher, although not by a significant margin. I find that the TG3 provides more consistency in each shot, while the H3 can deliver powerful shots that may eliminate the opponent. However, the consistency of the shots with H3 may vary slightly. Additionally, the TG3 has a harder topsheet and a sponge similar to that of the Hurricane. Generally, I also find TG3 to be tackier than H3, and it feels heavier as well.

So basically, I would recommend the H3 if you are a traditional Chinese-style attacker who values power and speed, while TG3 is for more control value players who want high spin and a harder feeling.
