... Pavade is playing fantastic. She's got this 3rd ball combo using very heavy underspin, knows she's getting back underspin, and loop kills it. Hirano couldn't defend against it.Pavade won the U2!1 European title as a 15 and 16 year old if memory serves me right and she beat all thr Romanian girls who were much older pretty convincingly (Diaconu, Dragoman). I remember a few years ago, I was discussing with people what her ceiling was. But she just couldn't handle Asian speed in the early days because her off the bounce play and her backhand were pretty bad. I am happy for her she has been able to fix it (or at least make it better), these things are never easy. As for all the verbal tics, well, until ITTF takes action, we just have to adjust somehow...
