So there I was yesterday after the usual training, the boyz & I went to an al-fresco deli for some grub. A certain dude, fren of one of us boyz came to join us and we struck up some conversation.
It seems Wang, let's just call him Wang is also playing in the same tourney and he told me, he was also cajoled into joining the tourney. And why is this so? Well, apparently, the organizer planned a 48 team draw and as at the time of writing, only 44 teams signed up, making a deficit of 4 teams. Each team minimum quota is six individuals and the max is eight pax. Hence, in a four groups, there will only be three teams instead of four.
No wonder we were cajoled, we ( Wang & I ) are there to make up the numbers(tm). Oh well, better be wanted rather than otherwise.
The tourney format as I have just found out will be:
Game 1: Singles
Game 2: Singles
Game 3: Doubles
Game 4: Singles
Game 5: Singles
G1 & 2 will be reserved for National and Provincial level player. If there are no Nat & Prov players in the team, then any other team members can step in to play.
G3 - 4 is open to novice / amateur players. Nat & Prov players are excluded.
An individual can only play one game per match.
All games are open, meaning any sex can play. No distinction between male or female players. How's that for equality? The game is played to a best of five.
