Will Butterfly eventually drop the price of the 'Tenergy' series?

From what I've seen, European/Japanese rubbers rarely drop prices - Mark V is still 30 EUR/GBP after all these years. Prices of Razka, Fastarc are still holding up after 10+ years. If something is unpopular they just stop producing it e.g. Aibiss.

Chinese rubber sometimes have a price drop within the 1st year of their release, then it stabilizes. But again bestsellers like Hurricane 3 have stable price.

Could be some NZD correction but if not then quit being a cheapskate and buy el cheapo Tenergies.
Neee!
I have tried both Tenergy and Dignics and I am not in this kind of class of ping pong player that I could use them properly.

I have however used my "Japanese -connection" , and being a true genuine cheapskate have bought a set of Rozenas.................wait for it.....................................at half the local price
😂😂😂

I see old vietnamese people using Tenergy here where the cost of living is super low. $70 or whatever it costs is like 20% of some people's rent here and they're still paying for it which is insane to me.

If demand is that inelastic to price, there's no reason to drop the price. Easy speed is an addiction that people are willing to pay for.

Actually Butterfly rubbers are really cheap in Japan and expensive elsewhere. In Japan a Tenergy is around US$42 while a Dignics is around US$48 excluding the 10% tax. Somehow after it arrives in other countries, it becomes around US$80.

retail profit in Japan is low, because they have volume.
i see your signature says you are from singapore.
well, at US$ 42+10% tax (46.20), how many people will buy tenergy rubbers in your home country? (by assuming there is no tax and no shipping costs)
market is too small, no volume to allow low margins.

in Japan, since it is domestic ordering. you can top up every day if you want.
For overseas distributor, they need to order in bulk due to very expensive logistics costs.
Capital overhead is way bigger for overseas reseller than that of one in the brands domestic market.

in the top TT nations, reseller don't really make profit on rubbers, because it is a consumable item.
the market is big, and the people change rubbers very often.
Tenergy is only good for 4 to 6 weeks use for example in Japan or Taiwan.
so returning business is higher too.

so it is very difficult to compare $46 vs $80, as the cost and P/L factors are just so different.
