Hello,
I'm looking for recommandations for a FH rubber.

I played for a year with a fastarc g1 2.0mm on my Nittaku Barwell Fleet.
It's a good combo but I find the top sheet a little bit harder for my taste. It's not easy for my level to lift the ball against a backspin.

I tried the victas 22. I find it grabs the ball well thanks to its softer topsheet but it feels also kind of mushy, like a 45 degrees when it's advertised to be 50 degrees! I now use it for my BH AMD I'm very satisfied with it.

So now I'm looking for a replacement for my FH with these requirements :
  • must feel has hard as a G1 (47.5 degrees) or slighlty harder
  • must have a softer topsheet than the G1 , something that grabs the ball well against backspin

I spent hours looking for stats on revspin, forum threads, youtube videos. I only found one rubber that might match my criteria : Andro rasanter r53.

Am I wrong and is there other rubbers you could recommend ?

Thank you!

Barwell fleet unplayable blade.
I spend 1000$ for rubbers on the blade. The hardest blade to match for rubbers
Tenergy 64 is only one great rubber for forhand and this type of information cost a lot of money. So I send you my PayPal email or revolut too.
V22 is backhand rubber and it is more 45 than 50 degree.
You can try xiom omega 7 pro or 7 tour/ asia and this is cheap information. You dont need to pay me

Not sure but maybe Hammon Z2 is a good option?

Donic Bluefore M1 matches your wish list.

1. 47.5 ESN degree hardness
2. Long and thin pimple structure to grab the ball better.

Danoma... try out other players bats for one minute every chance you get... this is free of money cost AND players are usually very willing to show off their stuff. This is try before you buy stuff.

I think ultimately, a soft topsheet with a firm enough sponge is what you want... and Tibhar Aurus is exactly that. Soft, supple grippy topsheet and a 50 degree sponge.

based on your description, tenergy19 is good, but rhyzer48 is similar and cheaper

Thanks guys, I'll look into it.

I think thibar aurus is 47.5° not 50 though.
I like also what I read about the Aurus Prime, which is also 47.5° but faster than the regulat aurus.

No one said anything about the Andro R53, that tells a lot I guess 😁

I wouldn’t try a new rubber, but a new blade first. Barwell Fleet is quite hard and has a walnut outer ply. Putting on a different rubber isn’t going to make that feel go away. All problems you describe will probably go away with a softer blade.

If you really want a different rubber on that blade I would recommend tacky rubbers like Rasanter C48/53, Tibhar Hybrid K3, Donic Bluestar A1/2, Yasaka Rakza Z/Z Extra Hard, or if you are up for it: Dignics 09C.

Also I agree with Der Echte on the try before you buy part.

Original Aurus is 50 degree sponge, soft is low 40s... their prime and whatever other variants are different, never used them so I do not know.

With the soft topsheet, that 50 sponge feels softer, yes it feels like a mid firm. Aurus simply makes every shot you do easier... kinda like a more modern faster Sriver, a rubber famous for gears. Aurus has every gear... each gear will not give you 100 in any aspect... but it will be mid 90s in every aspect and that is real rare to find ina rubber.

There are always BIG trade-offs when you prioritize one thing over another... you do not give up much with Aurus, only a tiny little in every aspect. That is a good thing.

Last night at Citrus heights, John Rambo Daniil, a rising local Ukrainian player, got a sheet of Aurus from me, had me slap it on hiz Super Viscaria... dude all smiles on his BH (He used Aurus for his BH). Could land it with percentage and pace.

He also got his lettered uniforms out of the letter shop. He now has 5 lettered uniforms and is ready to go to the US Open and NOT have to pin on a paper number sheet to his back.
