CNT has they own challenges domestically, of which table tennis is not even a top 3 or top 5 sport to pursue.
20 years ago, it was very different.
While other countries could be "improving", China has a huge task to just maintain the same, as the domestic quality+depth is dropping.

I'm sure you are aware that CNT A team + B team, now also have a C team, to "counter" the domestic challenges.

I think a lot of young non Chinese players this era, will have much better chance of getting games + matches off CNT players. The trait will just occur more and more regularly.

Yeah. I feel fortunate to have a lot of friends who are pretty high level. Guys who have helped my game include: Edmund Suen, Michael Landers, Mark Croitoroo, Paul David, Matthew Suchy, Alex Peres, Attanda Musa, Damien Provost; there are a bunch I am forgetting about. Sorry about that. Edmund probably helped me more and did more hands on training with me than anyone else. But all of those guys are pretty high level. So, having good friends who really knew what they were doing was useful to me. But I am still pretty mediocre.
