Hello everyone !

Championship season is coming up in a few days and it's time to make a choice. You will find on the attached photo a selection of some of my blades. I would like to get your opinions about the ones you know and why not guide me in my choice.

i would choose bernadette szocs blade for their good balance of power and feeling. basically the same as tibhar samsonov black but with a better handle. i don't mind the player but the blade is really nice, perfect for offensive hobby players :p
as close second i would choose the paul drinkhal blade that is basically a clone of viscaria and nothing wrong with that blade, would just be a bit too hard and fast for me personally. i like my blade a bit softer, but constructionwise suits my way of playing.

the other blades would be too bouncy for me

Szocs for me too.
Not sure I would trust the other ones for a comp.

Since you are Frenchman, I suggest Tibhar IV-L (I think it is the most popular ALL+ blade in France) or Andro Kinetic ALL+.

To be honest, I don't know how good you are, so ALL+ blades are safe bet. Or maximum OFF- (Tibhar Felix Off-).

As a matter of fact, I always marvel at how professional French athletes can use All+ / Off- blades and do wonders. I remember Gatien, using Stiga Allround Evolution and later on, Yasaka Gatien Extra. Patrick Chila used Tibhar Chila. Damien Eloi used the violin shaped Tibhar.

Of course they poured gallons of speed glue back then.

And currently Lebesson uses Tibhar Lebesson (which is basically a spin oriented Tibhar Samsonov Alpha, another All+/Off- blade).

So I think you will be fine using ALL+ blade. 🤪 🤪
It is ingrained in your French blood.....

Case in point: Exhibit A as below. Frenchies are known to emphasize elegance, finesse and pomp over pure athleticism.

I mean you’re joking but you are not wrong… I play in France and am only one of two players playing with a carbon blade at our club.

And so this season I fell back in line and bought myself a Yasaka Sweden.

It's mainly because we're cheapskates and for us ping pong should remain an inexpensive sport. 😂

C'est surtout parce qu'on est des radins et que pour nous le ping doit rester un sport pas chère 😂
