Butterfly blade matrix

Now before I start I know its mainly marketing based and not scientific, and that wood is a natural product so theres variation... but
I cant work out the matrix in terms of areas of blades that i would like. I've own or tried quite a few of the blades now but it doesn't seem to be consistent to what i like with the scales. Is that just because the matrix makes no sense, or that the difference in composition makes such a big difference they cannot be compared? Or is time and how much they have been played with the biggest factor. Some of the blades that feel the best are the oldest.

Speed and vibration are simply not enough dimensions to compare blades.
Does a blade hold the ball long or does it kick the ball out even more when hitting hard, where does the blade vibrates most and do I like that (index finger, palm, both), how is the blade balanced (when combined with rubbers), head sizes differ as do handle sizes, handle or wing shapes etc. And than there are the natural variations on top...

For performance and vibration properties I trust https://ttgearlab.com/category/database/ because his measurements usually agree with my subjective feelings about a blade. This is nice to exclude many blades but not enough to say if a blade fits me/my playing style because of the differences in balance, handles etc.

There might be blades that age like good wines (become a bit softer, slower and more flexible) and people that like these and there are others that do not like aged blades. Very subjective.

This is really useful - I had seen the website before but not the database section!

I agree about head-sizes having an effect. all the blades I havent liked so much are the slightly larger than standard size.
And just to say - this isn't about finding the 'perfect' blade, I enjoying trying different ones every now and again. Just wish I was able to find a system that isnt wildly inconsistent so they would be in the ballpark I was expecting
