Kim beat Chinese players too, she was the class of the tournament for me, her teammates couldn't get it done or they may have gotten the gold medal.Kim is very slick. There were times she played at full speed like Miwa and then she chose moments to slow it down just a bit to break the pace and force mistakes. Really made Miwa second guess herself and it resulted in a ton of misses on balls Miwa usually absolutely crushes. That's usually the strategy for pips players but Kim is different since her top gear and reactions are just as fast as the top attacking players.
Bummed for Miwa after all the work she put in to battle against the CNT members. But credit to Kim for understanding her opponent's patterns and exploiting them.
Of course, however stylistic matchups only goes so far in explaining things when there is such a big level difference and especially at the pro level compared to amateur level.
Without making excuses for any players, as I mentioned above I'm guessing there is some interesting context behind many of the surprises this tournament, Tomokazu included.
People stick AI into all kinds of BS ro make it sound more credible, in the end the argument is only as good as the evidence for it.Today, I read an article, the author has the background of artificial intelligence and exercise physiology, and this article is about,
- SYS quit from ATTA, not simply because of "tired" "muscle strength response",but suffering from her aerobic capacity being drained, and her endurance, stamina and fatigue resistance got damaged, which is irreversible.
And the reason she wrote this article is because, SYS was supposed to be hurt after the WS Final of OG Paris, and she already appeared some symptoms during WT. (......) it's weird she still been sent to attand WTT Champions Macao, WTT China Smash, and ATTA, and was required to attand WS+WD+WT....which was like her team or CNT, totally lack of knowledge.
And I need to put a background here(......),CM was using her ability + AI + ("probably")SYS's personal data beating SYS during WS Final of OG Paris, and the CNT knew that.
Some members knew that before the match, some members learned that during the match.
But all the other associations recognized that after this match, and very quick, they got the key point very close to the answer to the examination; and they put some fine-tuning into their tactic immediately and got some positive feedback. (all these info just for reference, there's nothing from the official source).
Anyway, I have another feeling of this article.
Table tennis is a sport described as "Boxing" + "Chess", now they hand over the "Chess" part to the artificial intelligence to get the weak "points" of the opponent, then made the accurate "Boxing" all the time during the match....which would cause the opponent player's irreversible damage.
Yes, you could kill your opponent in all kinds of meaning...
Pandora's box has been opened, omg, I'm so sad...
I will not share this article here, but zeio, this article is from 知乎,and has been reprinted to all the platforms I guess, but not sure how long would be lasting, maybe you have the interest to search for it.
Does anyone else think Lin Shidong struggles with backhand-to-backhand fast exchanges? He’s great at hitting backhand kill shots, but during quick backhand rallies, he seems very inconsistent and makes a lot of simple mistakes. Harimoto won many points that way. I haven’t seen enough of Lin Shidong’s matches to know if this was just an off day or if his backhand is always like this, but it looks much weaker in fast exchanges compared to other top Chinese players. I wonder why only Harimoto was able to exploit it.Tomokazu Harimoto vs Lin Shidong | Final
CM and SYS have been playing each other since 2017 so they know each other very very well and certainly do not need "AI" to beat each other. I wonder if the author is one of those toxic bitches who thinks it's cheating simply because CM played to her advantage/her teammate's weakness (that's common sense) and it worked (she's been using the same tactic for her life including Saudi Smash, except when she won at Saudi some people were too concerned about diminishing her win by saying it's all luck so they only start this terrible argument after OG games).Today, I read an article, the author has the background of artificial intelligence and exercise physiology, and this article is about,

Their coach didn't even come to the podium. That even spoke more loudly about the sentiments.😆just watched the WT presentation ceremony. The Chinese women as they turned to step down, without exception, took off their silver medals before even leaving the podium.
Is this the worst showing of CNT girls since the Moscow Debacle?
No, he does pretty well with it. His specialty is his BH drive. He's more proficient than most (possibly any) and often mixes that in during BH/BH rallies for direct winners. The issue is that this entire tournament that shot hasn't been working. In fact drives just haven't been working for anyone even on the FH side as they all go long. We've gone back in time to the age where BH rallies are all spin counters.Does anyone else think Lin Shidong struggles with backhand-to-backhand fast exchanges? They used to break really easily on sharp impacts, like edge hits. More recent seamless balls feel a bit harder and more resilient to me. I still prefer them to any seamed plastic ball - we still use seamless locally here.I haven't played with a seamless ball in a while but I remembered back then when I did and it was the only decent ball that it was easily the closest thing to celluloid in playing feeling even though it cracked easily. Could that explain some of what we saw in this event? I don't remember seeing any cracked balls either...
I don't follow here -- isn't Harimoto known for playing exactly this way, i.e., ceding the initiative and letting the opponent open the rally? So by this logic, shouldn't Harimoto be a good matchup for LSD?Citing his close matches and losses to KNT players (CSM, JWJ, CDS, AJH etc.) who are all about serve-n-attack and all-out FH step-around, I wrote in 2023 over at MyTT that 前提係對面畀你爆先/the prerequisite to LSD's game is that the opponent cedes the initiative and lets him blast first.
