The future of chopping

Man I already had a fire idea for good chopping:

Medium pips forehand
Long pips backhand

or

Anti-spin forehand
Long pips backhand

or

Long pips both sides

Yup, it seems that Sjan currently has too much free time, again...the account (and the corresponding posts) will be deleted as soon as Carl is online again, but then again, Sjan has so many sleeper accounts; he'll be back sooner than later.

These are not good ideas. Most pips out setups work because of the difference of spincreation between the sides of the racket. Most pips out rubbers struggle with low or no spin balls. That's why the really good LP players can twiddle their rackets mid point so they always have a good answer to a incoming ball.

Strictly 100% chopping from both sides is really not a viable style especially for amateurs
That said.
Wide pips or medium pips forehand and long pips (not ITTF slim pips) backhand is the best style especially for at the table block & smash style
This could also be a good style for away from the table choppers
But overall for most amateurs, spinny inverted forehand & OX long pips backhand (with twiddling) is the best style

I think this is what John Hilron used
If you cannot loop at all , then this could be the ideal racket such as for older players who never learned to loop or can no longer loop due to physical limitattions due to aging and or health issues

Any dumb racket (same rubber type both sides) is the most inefficient racket for any amateur.
You can read more about dumb & smart rackets here

In general for an amateur , the key is desigin a racket that has maximum spin contrast between forehand & backhand rubbers generally this means top spin vs back spin , given that 90% of amateurs do not have a backhand loop (but 90% of amteurs deude themselves they are Ma Long) .
One need to undestand the spin continuum for table tennis first
Here is some more information about Spin continuum and spin contrast
1. Most of these are jokes

ofc I know that Inverted and LP is the best combo for choppers
2. What is this
Spin continuum and spin contrast
