Joola Nobilis PBO-C is a good hinoki outer 5 ply. Give it a look.
Still has good feel but it's fairly light.

Are you using it? Is it good 1 ply hinoki?
It's a very good blade. I used it 2 months, and eventually will play again with it. It's fast, a bit too fast for me but the feeling is really nice.

I have T05 2.1mm and T64 1.9mm, total weight is 192g. Not too bad.

I can imagine at 240g it is very heavy and hard on your arm.

I keep on EJ, now, I feel the 1 ply hinoki is the one I love..but the problem is, it's heavy

That's a true speed demon... Try some slower rubbers.

Cheers

I am playing with my Sanwei h10, 1 ply hinoki, Dhs H3 blue sponge and dhs h3 backhand neo. Weighs 240grams.
I feel shoulder, arms and forearms pains. Tennis elbow.
Planning to buy Nittaku Miyabi, 85 grams +- 5. Hopefully will solve my problem.
Is there any alternative to a 1 ply hinoki? I relly love the feels.
Hi Fan,
I would strongly suggest that a different racket won't help much, compared to correcting your technique.
Check these out:-
  1. soft, loose grip
  2. don't wrap fingers tight round handle you are not carrying a Flag
  3. your shoulder should be loose throughout the shot
  4. don't squeeze blade with thumb, pointer finger at same time. For Fh Relax thumb, For Bh relax forefinger. This helps tennis elbow
  5. try to generate your strokes by moving your weight forward and/or upward as the shot requires.
  6. Once There is a loose, whippy feel to your fh, things will get better.
  7. If you don't feel confident making these changes a couple of sessions with a good coach should introduce some relaxation into your game
  8. For the next year, don't try to be more powerful, rather think about, synchronising your legs with the rest of your body, and think SMOOTH.
    Good luck

It is also worth noting that Tennis Elbow is a repetitive stress issue. If you actually have tennis elbow, taking a few weeks off from playing TT and looking at some of the things that are recommended for helping heal from tennis elbow would be worth doing.

Then, when the repetitive stress issues are starting to be better, what pingpongpaddy recommends will work that much better to help you improve without re-injuring yourself.

Damn 240g. Yeah that is gonna bring about some serious hand pain lol...

F=ma hence the amount of force to accelerate a bat to a given acceleration is directly proportional to its mass. So compared to someone looping using 180g bat you have to invest 33% higher force to get the same acceleration lol.

How similar joola nobilis to 1 ply hinoki and how's the difference? Spin, catapult, kick effect, short game drive?
Fairly similar. The outer ply is a thicker hinoki ply so the ball feel is still great. It's a bit less bouncy out the gate because you have plies and not just a big chunk of wood.

catapult is good. It's not so active at lower speeds but is at higher speeds. Doesn't have much kick because of that.

Short game is great. Also excels because of the multiple gears I mentioned previously.

Don't stick very fast rubbers on it unless you want a missile though. It can be a fast blade so rubbers that pair great are the ones that can hold the ball well. That's my preference though because I spin a lot. It can do anything well which is why I like it so much.
