You timed your shot, waiting for the ball to drop slightly before striking it. This slight delay allowed you to execute a slap with minimal brushing contact. The minimal brushing happened naturally because of the small upward motion in your stroke, which provided just enough lift to keep the loop controlled and powerful.
OK, this I understand and can do. Thanks a lot.

In anticipation of the arrival of the ultimate FH rubber, that is, Tenergy 05 Hard in three weeks time, today, I glued a sheet of old and used that Donic Acuda S1 that happens to be in my drawer, on the FH side of Darker Speed 90 and played with it for four hours straight. I want to get my FH accustomed to the harder sponge feel. Some thoughts:
1. S1 is fast, definitely much faster than the Xiom Vega Europe I previously use.
2. Counter-drive is wonderful, opens up a new option to me as previously it was blocking if using Vega Europe.
3. The ball trajectory is more direct and linear and less loopy.

I hope this will get my FH up to speed when the T05H arrives.
For comparison: Donic Acuda S1 ESN hardness is listed 47.5 while Butterfly official site state that T05H sits on 43 Butterfly degree hardness. I read somewhere, to convert, just add 10 to the BTY scale and voila, you will get ESN scale equivalent, plus minus thereabout.

So, T05H is 43+10 approx 53 degrees hardness on the ESN scale. This is a new for me, it will be either swim or drown for me. Do it until I get it or die trying.

T05H on a 1ply. An extremely bad combination for high spin loops. Is an all out speed set up. Power loops with high speed with very little marginal, easy to smash hard IF you can hit the table…
I say Good luck… 😱

With hard rubber, spin is about brushing technique, it will be interesting to see what happens.

Yes, but none of the Tenergies are good brushers, for this a little bit of tackiness is. I know by my own experience that normal T05 is not and I seriously don’t believe T05H is either.

Acuda S1 is nothing like T05H so good luck with that

To all those naysayers, ye of little faith.... watch this space.

Crash and burn or ascension. All shall be known by end of this month... ( darn it, three weeks delivery time can be frustrating long time )

It's all relative. Other than crazy responsiveness on slower shots, the thrill of Tenergy was originally that in terms of generating quality, it was actually closer to the Chinese rubbers than it was to ESN rubbers.

I assume you are talking about T05H because T05 is nothing like a Chinese rubbers…

To some degree yes, when Tenergy first came out, it was a bit harder in sponge than it became over time and was similar to MX-S evolution.

So many signing up pro here and there....

I noticed that Darker does not have any sponsored players. I wonder if Darker produces rubber to complete their range?

#justsayin' you might never know...

and those pipsterphile always say, if you can't play a pipster, you have not train enough. Bullshit! Even Aruna a pro has a hard time against a provincial player with pips. This is very telling!

Quadri won the match. Table tennis against a good player is never like jogging.
