Niwa was 2:5 down (not remember if also 2:6) in 5th game and managed to win 11:9. Weird to see him struggle in his first round
Miyagawa wasn't a nobody, he was a team mate of Uda and Togami from highschool to university and 3 of them were a powerful team. Sadly his stature is too limited for him to play more competitively

sorry, stupid question, i didn't really understand what this cup is about and who can participate.
i'm currently watching this livestream:
is this the official one? what is a good place to see the highlights?
It's currently midnight in Japan, so that's not really a "livestream". If you want to see past matches, go to the first post in this thread and click on the draws. From there, each match has a "Check out the match footage here" with a YouTube logo link (though it's not a YouTube vide) which links to the stream of the table that match occurred on. You may need to jump around the stream to find the match you're interested in.

The nature of the tournament should tell people that, there are no easy matches here other than the ones that somehow end up being easy. The qualifiers are mentally warmed up having fought for their positions, the seeds are trying to get into it.

there were 32 top seeds, basically the players which attained R32 last year.
all others had to win their place through a qualification tournament hosted in their prefecture.

the qualification tournament is totally open. Basically any person registered in the prefecture can participate.

[there might be a few exceptions to these general rules]

in the current tournament there is the open category, and also the JUNIOR category which is up to high school students (18) if im correct

in younger categories, there is also an All-Japan tournament but the dates are different.
for veteran categories, the tournament is called "All-Japan Masters"

Rin Mende wins 3-1 over tough chopper, Saya Yamamuro. But poor Rin Mende... she will have almost no time to rest before her Junior Girls Finals match with Miwa which is scheduled in 15 minutes. Then, not long after, she has to battle Hina Hayata in WS.

The only option is to try and grit her teeth for the junior title.

It looks to me Harimoto wanted to save energy at first but Mende had a different idea.

Japan is the best reputable nation. They never using boosters, Nor they trading boosters at all. Some favourable contrast to China the kingdom of frauds.
