I must have missed it, but there is a new Xiom Omega 8 now.

How are these new rubbers different from Xiom's existing series??

I've just glued o8pro and have tested it briefly on my Xiom tmxi Pro. The rubber is very good on backhand. Much more grip and catapult as compared to 07pro but still very controllable. Very promising as my 07pro replacement.

I tried the Omega 8 Pro and Omega 8 China on my backhand and forehand respectively today.

I'll review the O8 China real quick:

- a little more tackiness than the J&H C55 but less than something like Rakza Z or H3. Id say this is a middle of the road tackiness level.

- very easy to use as far as hybrid rubbers go. Definitely way easier to play with than the JH C55 due to the softer sponge (52.5 degrees).

- The sponge feels great and is very powerful.

- Plenty of speed and the tackiness doesn't slow down the ball too much but it does make this rubber a spin monster

-Top sheet is quite soft and has a good combination of tack and grip.

- I didn't weigh the rubber but it's definitely significantly lighter than the C55 and quite light for a hybrid.

- great for service, short game, loops and counters.

- medium arc.

I've only played a few hours with this rubber but I am tempted to say that this is my favorite hybrid I've played with (compared to D09c, Rakza Z, Rakza Z EH, Donic C2 and Xiom JH C55). 10/10 forehand rubber in my opinion.

Is the rebound higher than C55?

thanks for you impressions. can you also review the omega 8 pro and possibly compare it with other rubbers in that hardness category?

Im still using omega 7 pro and want to know if o8 is a worthy upgrade

Nice review, have you got access to the j&hc52.5 rubber? As I am interested in how that plays compared to the 52.5 omega 8 hybrids.

Yes, more rebound/throw than C55

I need more time to fully understand this rubber but it seems to me like it's spinnier than O7. Nice rubber and definitely an upgrade to O7

I've only tried the C55. I'm not much interested in the J&H C series as the top sheet is very hard and the rubbers are crazy heavy.

Sounds good, they should make a 55d Omega 8

What would be the closest non hybrid /hybrid rubber to o8 china's speed?

Tough to say without doing a direct test but I'd say it's similar speed to Dignics 09C. The tensor effect is more present in this rubber and D09c than compared to pretty much every other hybrid imo. The sponge of O8C feels easy to activate and get quality out of.

Ever tried Andro C53 or Joola ZGX? Both 53d hybrids, both quite nice

And what about spin?

Got 6 omega 8 chinas and 6 omega 8 pros, that's how much I like these rubbers for the price/performance ratio. At TT11, it's only about $40 a sheet, which is 33% cheaper than D09C. Omega 8 pro is replacing D80 for me.

Omega 8 China plays about 90% of D09C (C55 is about 95% of D09C), not as bouncy and doesn't go as far, but easier to control. I've put it on Joola ZQH90, ZQH45, Donic xtreme, Jinshi KLC Pro, Hurricane Acb, and TMXi Pro. Compared to C55, this thing is lighter and doesn't make the setup feel so heavy, while still retaining most of the performance.

Omega 8 pro is grippier than omega 7 pro and faster. Biggest selling point is how light it is, even lighter than O7P. O8P is about 5-7g lighter than O8C when cut. This has allowed me to use heavier blades without it feeling like a club.

Is omega 8 pro more like dignics or tenergy in terms of responsiveness?

I am an Intermediate player according to very high rated players my Technique is nearly Flawless, but my movement, balance and shot selection sometimes suck :D I currently play Timo Boll ALC + Vega Korea BH + Hybrid MK Pro max FH. My stroke has a lot of power and I use hips and legs allot.

My top spins seem to overshoot allot in game. I feel like correctly engaging the MK pro is very difficult because the ball travels very far with this rubber. I was warned about that and was told I should buy in 2.0 but I couldn't resist :)

Before I played with Ovtcharov Alc + Tenergy 05 Max FH and I didn't have that problem at all but I didn't like the catapult "bitchiness" of Ternergy in shortgame and counterspin.
Although love the feeling of Timo Boll ALC I bought the Hurricane king AcB blade because its inner Carbon but still has that Koto outer ply that I fell in love with.
Now I am looking for a rubber that fits that blade, is easier engaged and has more Control than MK Pro.
I am looking for good counterspin performance a Medium-High Arc, Medium-High Speed, LowMedium Catapult, A rubber which make it easy to land the Ball on the table. Do you have any recommendations ?
Is the Omega China 8 a good option ?

Thank you for the answers and greeting from Germany.
