Try the o8c, you won’t regret itI am an Intermediate player according to very high rated players my Technique is nearly Flawless, but my movement, balance and shot selection sometimes suckI currently play Timo Boll ALC + Vega Korea BH + Hybrid MK Pro max FH. My stroke has a lot of power and I use hips and legs allot.
My top spins seem to overshoot allot in game. I feel like correctly engaging the MK pro is very difficult because the ball travels very far with this rubber. I was warned about that and was told I should buy in 2.0 but I couldn't resist
Before I played with Ovtcharov Alc + Tenergy 05 Max FH and I didn't have that problem at all but I didn't like the catapult "bitchiness" of Ternergy in shortgame and counterspin.
Although love the feeling of Timo Boll ALC I bought the Hurricane king AcB blade because its inner Carbon but still has that Koto outer ply that I fell in love with.
Now I am looking for a rubber that fits that blade, is easier engaged and has more Control than MK Pro.
I am looking for good counterspin performance a Medium-High Arc, Medium-High Speed, LowMedium Catapult, A rubber which make it easy to land the Ball on the table. Do you have any recommendations ?
Is the Omega China 8 a good option ?
Thank you for the answers and greeting from Germany.
It feels really good. Easier to use than W968 but you lose some of the monster spin quality. I use o8c on FH and o8p on BH. I used to use boosted H3N BS on FH and O7P on BH on the TMXi Pri but it felt too heavy for me (197g) and I couldn’t get the proper BH loops some of the time. Changing to O8C and o8p reduced the weight to a perfect 193g and it feels so much more balanced.can you share some expressions on how you like both o8 rubbers on the tmxi pro?
thank you!
I agree, but I am not sure what difference the Hurricane King AcB will make compared to Timo Boll Alc. I mean Tenergy 05 is also known for bad control and overshooting, but with my Ovtcharov Alc I didn't have this problem at all.51 degree is obviously too much for him and you advise him a 52.5… no words
Do both rubbers fit with Hurricane AcB ?Got 6 omega 8 chinas and 6 omega 8 pros, that's how much I like these rubbers for the price/performance ratio. At TT11, it's only about $40 a sheet, which is 33% cheaper than D09C. Omega 8 pro is replacing D80 for me.
Omega 8 China plays about 90% of D09C (C55 is about 95% of D09C), not as bouncy and doesn't go as far, but easier to control. I've put it on Joola ZQH90, ZQH45, Donic xtreme, Jinshi KLC Pro, Hurricane Acb, and TMXi Pro. Compared to C55, this thing is lighter and doesn't make the setup feel so heavy, while still retaining most of the performance.
Omega 8 pro is grippier than omega 7 pro and faster. Biggest selling point is how light it is, even lighter than O7P. O8P is about 5-7g lighter than O8C when cut. This has allowed me to use heavier blades without it feeling like a club.
O8C on hurricane acb is a pretty good match. I can easily hit through to the carbon and you don’t get that springiness of tenergy close to the table. It feels very similar to viscaria + d09c in terms of feeling for me.I am an Intermediate player according to very high rated players my Technique is nearly Flawless, but my movement, balance and shot selection sometimes suckI currently play Timo Boll ALC + Vega Korea BH + Hybrid MK Pro max FH. For sure. I previously tried C55 and H8-80 on this blade but it was too heavy and mushy for a lack of a better term. It ended up being around 199g setup (blade was 91g). I felt afraid to hit hard to activate the carbon because it felt like it would just send it flying. O8C gives a clear crisp feeling on FH and o8p works great for BH. Now the setup is 193g.Do both rubbers fit with Hurricane AcB ?
The weight is Perfect for me, o8p sounds great I played o7p on backhand and Ioved it. I am just a little Scared of o8c on FH. Boll ALC + MKpro in Max gave me exactly this feeling and its softer than o8c .... hmm not sure maybe I will go for G0c or VegaPro H, but anyways thanks for the answer !!For sure. can you compare O8pro vs O7pro a bit?It feels really good. Easier to use than W968 but you lose some of the monster spin quality. I use o8c on FH and o8p on BH. Just wanna say one thing if I may, o7p is really not a bouncy rubber. In fact it is very balanced.can you compare O8pro vs O7pro a bit?
i liked O7pro in active play but in serves and passive strokes it was a bit to bouncy for me. i wanna go away from vega x and need something faster but without having a trampoline on my paddle like with O7pro or tenergy05
maybe it wasn’t the right term because english is not my first language, but i like rubber with a lot of dynamic and katapult on my backhand, but i don‘t like it when the catapult starts to early like on short touches or serves. that is known for tenergy05 and several other rubbers. vega x, vega pro, ventus extra, nittaku g-1 and tenergy19 all do a better job with this and are all in the same hardness range of euro 48. but O7pro was more like 05 on my blade.i hope it is clear now what i meanJust wanna say one thing if I may, o7p is really not a bouncy rubber. In fact it is very balanced.
If you are coming from a h3 or something similar, o7p is bouncy. If you are coming from Vega X, the differences are not huge. At this point it will be much better to work on technique. Personally, I find pushing short or long is really easy with o7p. for example, h3 push is better but I need to be more aware of my impact + angle
since o8p is the same hardness category, I doubt it will help you. nonetheless, I am also interested in a comparison of both rubbers![]()
vega asia DF is a normal grippy tensor rubber that is really soft around 42 degree. far away from the china guang that comes at 55 degree. xiom is not super specific about the names like euro, pro, asia and so on. it is more about a playing style then actual hardness or categories like that. so every series has their own kind of ‚asia‘.anyone tried the Omega 8 Hybrid? currently I am playing with Vega Asia DF on backhand and it is became way too soft as I started to get my backhand back. on forehand I have the China Guang and sometimes I flip the blade and play with CG on backhand but it is a tad too hard - with 52.5 sponge hardness, O8H could be a good fit ... also, Hybrid vs. Asia - what is the difference - I see sponge hardness is the same, both 52.5 ...
O8pro would seem a great fit, but it's not tacky (somehow, I came to conclusion that I need a tacky rubber to serve good ... every tacky rubber I tried, my serve is good, with non-tacky, it's a marshmallow ...)
I know all that, Asia DF is soft (too soft, unfortunately) and China Guang too hard, at least for BH.vega asia DF is a normal grippy tensor rubber that is really soft around 42 degree. far away from the china guang that comes at 55 degree. xiom is not super specific about the names like euro, pro, asia and so on. it is more about a playing style then actual hardness or categories like that. so every series has their own kind of ‚asia‘.
in omega 8 there is no asia rubber and the hybrid has only 50 degree.
