I used win rate.. this is percentage and not participation....

correct, and also losses to ones that are not good for his win rate.

his win rate has been dropping, if this stat isn't important, then what is? potential win rate or current win rate?

yes, compare win rate/stats if you want
facts are facts, potential, then that means we opening a can of worms and ignoring actual stats.
then we can just argue that WCQ is the GOAT already
Does win rate adjust for quality of opposition?

yes, and same with loose rate too. As much as he beat a few high quality opponents, he also lost to those on the other side of the spectrum.

the deeper you go into a competition, supposedly the higher the quality of opposition.
The opponents is all public view on ITTF stats page for those who want to analyze further.

Pitchford, was basically 1 matches away from his previous years ratio per event, and that is why he was falling in his win rate for the consecutive years of the stats I shared and same reason why his world ranking is dropping. It is all relative to each other.

Lets see if Joola will assist in his challenges

So if I get 1 out of 3 (1 victory, 2 losses) playing Ovtcharov, Timo and Chuang, it is different from going 1 out of 3 playing Tony, NextLevel and Sabonis in what way?

Hi,
I watched Liam matches against Freitas and Aruna. They were very enjoyable, much more than the matches with the Lebruns, who destroyed their opponents.
When you don't know how a player will perform, for any reason, this is when things get interesting.
Well done Liam 👍
This is a very nice post, I agree. Was a very good performance and fun to watch

Liam loses 2-3 to Afanadar, 11-9 in the 5th after coming back from 0-2 down... first loss in Pro A with his Joola equipment I believe...

PS: Liam won the British champs this weekend and must have been pretty exhausted lol... but so must have been a few other players playing...
