Congrats Uda for taking out the 'Japanese killer' Duda. Idk why he just insist on backhand rallies, worked horribly on the first 2 sets
He said the FH step-around was the key, after playing too safe at first and that his attacks were halfhearted (probably afraid of leaving the FH side wide open).

Nobody's strength is his BH when playing against LSD. It's something potentially exploitable if you can make him worry about his FH, but if you go into a match thinking you're gonna win by forcing him into BH rallies then you're gonna lose.
Not always. When he played Harimoto the last 2 times Harimoto won the majority of the backhand to backhand exchanges. LSD’s backhand is very good against spin but not that good against pure speed BH dominant players like Hari and Felix Lebrun.
though, overall, I still think his backhand is better than both

uda changed his blade, before was using a viscaria handle inner zlc blade - i assume it is the same but with that weird G Fless or whatever its called handle that Diaz and Boll were using

Is g fless really that good??Why has butterfly not released it yet on a commercial blade (i’m not paying 600 bucks for the timo anniversary blade)

Custom blades made for Butterfly pros aren't necessarily the Viscaria handle shape and size but have the similar visual design. So what Uda is using is probably the same custom inner zlc but with G Fless. G Fless is made to prevent slipping in sweaty hands but it does have a different feeling so not for everyone.

Citing 2015 matches, your analysis never ceases to amaze.

Alexis is probably the best player in Europe right now. Duda is good but I would not put him there. Togami>Uda is just as reasonable a conclusion. After all, Alexis destroyed Duda much worse than he destroyed Togami.
This coming from someone who questioned Harimoto's record against certain players but not Felix and Moregard back in January. What happened to the two Olympic medalists shortly after (1, 2, 3)? You can't say Alexis is necessarily way above Duda against other players just because the latter has a losing record. Duda is a harder player than Alexis to Uda. And like Uda said in the interview, he wanted to get his first win.

Well, we will give them time to let the rankings decide. I guess Uda is also higher ranked than Togami now since he is clearly better with his 2024 stats...
Take away the points of those tournaments that Uda wasn't qualified to play and see.

The point here is that declaring that one player has surpassed another on the basis of inconclusive factors is for you to make (my WR point was to consider all the evidence, I think Uda is on an upward trend and may pass Togami soon for sure). I don't think Uda can beat Lebrun and that is the player he needs to beat before I can say he has surpassed Toigami. Hopefully, that makes it plain in English. Duda is a good win, but Togami beat Duda in German League as well. So this surpassing is to me one of your desires to put your favorites on a pedestal. So please, continue to make your pronouncements, you may very well be right. I am not convinced. Lebrun is the best player in Europe at the moment and is to me clearly a level above Duda.

WYD 3-0 Ito (8, 2, 4)

Even a beat Hirano could take a game.

Hirano 2-3 KNY (-10, 10, -7, 10, -5)
Hirano needs a real break. Never found her groove against WYD (despite having the early lead) and KNY. Similar situation for Miwa. What's going on over at Kinoshita?

Ito 1-4 CXT
G1 76 CXT forced to draw out the hidden kick serve she used against Hirano at ATTC 2024, 78, 98, 911
G2 20, 25, 35, 36, 56, 510, 611
Nothing has changed. Still the same old washed-up Ito.
G3 05, 65, 66, 76, 77, 87, 88 TO for Ito, 118
G4 01 CXT becomes more vocal, 04, 14, 17, 37, 38, 48 dead net for Ito, 58 corner edge for Ito and TO for CXT, 59, 69, 611
G5 22, 27, 37, 310, 610, 611
Would've ended in straight games had CXT not played safe like always.

Looks like Felix gave Kanak a good hiding
Felix dominated the serve receive battle and that was all he needed. Kanak may have been too stubborn trying to hold the table instead of stepping back, but that's his game. Felix looks sharp, and probably nothing Kanak could have done to make it much closer.

Kinda surprised CYY is giving Kallberg all he can handle. He doesn't seem to do anything particularly well, I like Huang Yousheng a bit better, but he's playing well right now while Kallberg isn't.

Kallberg 3-2 CYY (6, -8, -8, 8, 7)
Kallberg finally doesn't disappoint.
Wildcard CYY wasting another chance and quickly becoming another XP.

Idk if I'd even call it wasting a chance, he's just not very good. He actually performed better than I expected, I thought Kallberg was gonna walk all over him. He has a big FH but that's dime a dozen. His BH is weak, his service/receive game is just so-so, and there isn't much variation to his game. His equipment choice is also very weird. He played a control game on the BH side, relying on defense and pace changes, and relies on his big FH to get points, yet he uses Viscaria instead of a 968 variant.

This type of equipment analysis is really silly
