Recordings of me playing with my senior

What you call trolling here on the internet is the equivalent of someone telling you the truth in a social setting.
You admittedly posted a bad video where you weren't even giving your best and then expect that people should give their time to watch it and tell you things to help you.
Yeah good point lol
You can't ask for peoples opinions and then scold them when you get them.
Remember this key thing, you asked for the opinions. Asking for an opinion is different to someone randomly coming along and interjecting when you don't welcome it.
If you don't like an opinion you can choose to ignore it but arguing with people for giving what you asked for is a bit silly.
Fair enough man, I get it
I advised you 14 posts into your thread that there's a better forum for feedback in here but instead of doing that and getting on with it you're back chastising Gozo in someone else's video thread 😂
BTW, Tyce gave an even more harsh and honest assessment in post 16 and also said you are goofing off but you seem ok with that 🤷‍♂️
Yeah I simply ignored it lol
Let it go kid, let it go.
Your 1st video was so unfit for purpose that people could easily conclude you to be the initial troll 😉
;););)

Hello! It's been sometime since the last videos and earlier this afternoon I took some more videos of me playing my senior. Basically same set up as last time. I'm the one with the glasses. Took feedback that I should make my swing smaller and stay lower, knees wider than my shoulders.

Below are the videos:

I may likely still be staying too high and swing is pretty bad and will have to improve. Tomorrow is the last day of school for the first term and comes a week of holidays. Will try to find days to practice at the Community Club. So far my schedule is pretty busy. Please comment and I would like to hear your honest responses for improvement.

You have improved a bit. However, what I see is that you are stopping your stroke right after contact... relax your arm bro!

If you see the pros, their arms end up in a 'salute'. Make sure your stroke ends up in a similar fasion, do NOT stop your arm sooner.

Good luck bro!

Thank you for the feedback. I may have over exaggerated trying to make the swing smaller and end up stopping the stroke through the ball too early. Maybe next time I should try to keep even lower and spinnier. I’ve found though that he hits the ball early off the bounce for most of the session and sort of figured out my long return to forehand timings, which impacted a bit.

By making the stroke smaller, we mean making the start of the stroke smaller, not the end 😅😅😅

this lol. the backswing is still going too far BACK. look at this video from Ma Long. His first couple strokes are called "Drives". notice how how his paddle does not go back past his hips? Then he takes a couple steps back and starts looping the ball. You can see his follow through goes up to his head. The follow through is far more important than the backswing.

2) you seem like you are pretty quick and agile. this will help you immensely in table tennis. however, i am wondering why you are nearly always taking a couple steps back from the table once each point starts. your opponent is not giving you these insane quality balls that require you to be so far back from the table. In my humble opinion, it is a bad habit to play so far from the table when you haven't properly learned how to play closer to the table. i have a friend at the club who developed this same habit, and he's always in compromised positions against me because he always floats further and further away from the table which makes it easier and easier for me to attack him. SO...practice playing closer to the table. get your drive/loop/push down. if you need to and the rally truly takes you there, you back up and play, but your biggest advantage is going to be playing closer to the table where you can dictate the pace and angle of the ball.

I may have the bad habit staying back as I am scared to further damage my bat. I will try practicing staying closer to table and the follow through. I can't do much about the people that I play, but when school reopens next term I will try to get more vids, and possibly of me playing other people.

-Get down in the knees and stay low
- make body like you are freezing, more compact
- you have the biggest backswing in forehand stroke i have ever seen. Try to have the arm more still in beginning and make the arm go back by moving the body. So arm is almost always in front of body since you turn the body
- Learn RPB.
- If you still want to do TPB, try to play more with stomach
- Play more drills, to difficult to get the ball everywhere

Good Luck

Below are some of the videos from earlier in the year to compare when I was one sided vs when I got rpb rubber.

wow... impressive!!!

The forehand in those videos (preferably videos 2-4) are spectacular! When I say I wanted you to finish the action, this is what I was talking about! Great job, keep it up. I know that this was earlier in the year, but I know that now you are a better player.

Don't be too scared hitting your racket on the table... it's not paper :|

Be confident!

Hello, so today evening, I will be going back to Singapore from my KL trip. Had a good time here spending time with my cousin who recently moved to Selengor.

Tomorrow afternoon till evening about 3-7pm I will go to Tampines Hub to practice with the old uncles. Will try to shoot a couple videos where possible. Gonna have to get my forehand up to form. I will take note of a few things:

Make the backswing much less.

Have a good follow through to a salute position, not stopping halfway.

Stay lower, legs wider apart.

Learn to shoto better.

Improve consistency on my rpb.

Yep, most notes you need since youre already fast on your feet. Good luck, the uncles may have the LP.

Also, swing it when forehand :D

Hello to people, I apologize for not being able to shoot a couple of videos today. I am currently on the bus to the table tennis facility, but realised I forgot to bring my tripod with me. I may play again next Monday, Thursday and Friday. I will remember to bring the tripod then.

Once again, I'm terribly sorry 😞.

Hello guys so let me give a recap on the game yesterday.

I played from 2.30 to 7.30 yesterday, and played around with a couple of people and two boys from their primary school's school team.

I followed the advice about the much less backswing and made effort to start the swing from slightly front of my thigh and keep myself much lower(which I found i needed with this new stroke to keep it not going out of the table). I found tho that I suddenly start struggling to play with my current bat set up with this stroke. It keeps going out and even lowering my body as much as I could I cant get it to arc onto the table. My forehand and backhand blocks too started to suffer. Only my rpb improved slightly. Overall it seems to have made it worse. The stroke went through and contacted the ball in front of me and ended up with the bat right infront of me in a sort of salute. I believe I have done it correctly by then.

Switching over to my old bat, a jpen with now not very good condition double fish volant, I found that it's now improved, much more speed and I could get it crack every time. Shoto also lands on the table right at the edge, pushing them back to unleash to speedy forehand. I suddenly felt more confident and accurate with speed on the older set up, and my miyabi now seemed inferior. Why?

I have a feeling it had something to do with fingers placement. The larger rounder head of the miyabi meant that the wings of the blade were wider. This resulted in it being harder to close the bat angle, thus more ball fly out otherwise. Plus, right from the start, tpb was not as good as the jpen, but with the ability for rpb it may have compensated.

I found that once the opponent figured out and give half long balls, I can't get rpb in. So is it a good idea to further practice and try with my rpb miyabi or go back to my yinhe jpen?

Btw I added a cork and tape at the back of my old bat when I removed the long pimps. It's ugly, but gets the job done.
