WTF - I just noticed that WTT all of a sudden for whatever reason prevented the live videos to be shown in Switzerland.

Grrrrrmmmpppfffffff ...
That sucks man!
Great country that (apart from lack of ITTF streams) 😛
I lived in Zurich for 15 years and still miss it!

It is really interesting how LYJ has delegated his choing duties to his coach. Dies that still make him silent?
haha
you can't have a silent coach and a silent player, can you
at least one of them need to be choing

Sora Matsushima saves the day for the Japanese men. He had some fan girls in the stands chanting his name.
Delaying the inevitable comments from Tieba users.

With the understanding that Mima can no longer beat the top tier Chinese, I'm sure the vast majority of pros would love to be as good as Mima and beat Sofia Polcanova 3-0.
Well, that's the difference between 超一流/super first class (a term popularized by Japanese go players in the 80's) and 一流/first class. Ito didn't even want to play WT for Asian Games 2022 and Paris 2024 if she couldn't play WS. She may not admit it, but she is well aware she is hardly super first class now.

Kanak was not nearly at his best in the AJH match, think he could have won that if he was in form
Bobrow said that Kanak had posted on Instagram that he was recovering from something. Still played decently.

You know what they would call your argument? 一場論/one-tourney theory.

It is great to hear the excuses for not acknowledging success. People who think anyone on the Champions event got there on the basis of one good tourney can't count.

She can join the club. Other than perhaps Miwa, who hasn't had tons of trouble against the top tier Chinese. She can still give Kuai Man trouble (1-1 H2H, 3-2 in KM's favor last meeting) and thrashed Shi Xunyao 3-0 at the 2025 Asian Cup. She's been around for a decade and is still in the top 10. I know you won't give her any respect, but she's earned tons of respect from both fans and her peers.

Respect is the last thing I want to read from the one who doesn't respect the comments of Mizutani, Harimoto and Hirano Sayaka.

Not acknowledging success, huh? If I may refer you to my recent comment to pongfugrasshopper on JNT's XD pairings and my comments on Togami and Uda over the years. For someone who used Szocs as a counterargument but had to be reminded what he wrote about her to nag about excuses.

That is a weird metric to use to gauge the 2 pairs.

As much as I don't regard Matsushima highly, his pairing with Harimoto has reached the XD F at SGP GS 2025 (put up a fight against LSS/KM) and beat 2 CNT pairs to win WTT SCT Doha 2025 (Huang Youzheng/Shi Xunyao and Chen Yuanyu/Chen Yi).

Both pairs have lost to PRK pairs at ATTC 2024, Ham Yu Song/Pyon Song Gyong for Matsushima/Harimoto and Ri Jong Sik/Kim Kum Yong for Yoshimura/Odo, so both pairs have got some work to do.

WR8 Matsushima/Harimoto
WR22 Yoshimura/Odo

Uda is a lefty. They should've gone for Togami. He's right-handed and the only one who took out Mizutani at the ATTC 2021 trial. Uda lost badly to Mizutani and Sora Matsushima in the group.

Togami has shown he can play doubles with various teammates, driving FZD/XX to the brink in the SF of ATTC 2019. The thing with Uda right now is that he plays exactly like a South Korean player, placing too much reliance on form. He either upsets or gets upset, making him wildly unpredictable, but could be a great asset under the right conditions. OTOH, Togami has way more balance between FH and BH, making him much more consistent, that could be a great balancer for the team event between 2 extremes as Harimoto and Uda.

Uda didn't make the team. He lost to Matsushima and Mizutani in the group stage of ATTC 2021 trial.

Uda's presence would likely not help here, given his poor showing at WTT Doha a week ago.

People who know you know that you are not beyond blatant misrepresentation to win arguments. But the discussion is there for anyone who wants to go read what was written and not cherry picked quotes taken out of context to give a false view of what was originally discussed. That's how most people know that even your use of Tieba quotes is inherently agenda driven. The original discussion was about whether Miu Hirano was appropriately seeded/ranked for the Olympics and whether Szocs and others above her were appropriately seeded. I argued that Szocs was appropriately seeded/ranked regardless of a focus on certain results that would misrepresent her strength (and that was an example of a stat that misrepresented her strength). But now you are actually claiming that I said Szocs was overrated. Are you serious?
