I'm watching Chen-Hayata - is it in my head or Chen sending the ball up the middle almost every single time?
Needless to say, CNT caught on to Hayata's crossover issue. Could be a sequela from the injury.

F
Harimoto 4-1 Hayata (11, 2, 9, -7, 11)

Harimoto has gotten familiar with how to get around Hayata and to pull it off, by playing with a more spin-oriented and control game to disrupt Hayata's flow, like CXT and ZYL, with random flat hits mixed in, like Ito.

Another issue with Hayata (after months of observation) is that it seems like she has trouble making a proper stroke on shots close to her FH crossover (which are already difficult to return), especially those that require a quick transition between pronation and supination with the elbow bent at an acute angle.

MS SF
Moregard (7) 1-4 WCQ (2) (5, -8, -2, -10, -10)
WCQ gave a textbook demonstration on how the short game should be handled by inducing Moregard (where he used the same pattern against Togami at 7:8 of G6) into making 1 unforced error that cost the latter the match, after dropping 4 match points due to Moregard's variations and his own over-hits.

WS SF
SYS (1) 4-0 Ito (8) (7, 5, 9, 4)
G3 61, 65, 75, 85, 87, 97 TO for Ito, 99, 119
Ito should feel satisfied to come by an opening during the turbulent transition of old and new at CNT. A bronze by luck more than by strength.

WD SF
Kihara/Harimoto (4) 0-3 KM/WMY (2) (-8, -6, -5)

Not “in addition to”, but that’s the only reason they cheer for LJK. LSD is the only real threat to their GeGe After fzd drops out international tours. Adam mentioned in his commentary that LJK got cheers because he‘s a good friend of WCQ is totally wrong.
But he is actually a good friend of WCQ, there are many moments of them captured on Weibo that show their friendship if I'm not mistaken. So it's definitely part of it.
WCQ has a better head to head record against Lin Shidong than LJK. You would think many of the fans would prefer LSD for this reason. Surely even though they're cheering loudly and hysterical for WCQ, they're rational people who analyze stats just like everyone.
So the fans are cheering for the guy that is more likely to beat their man?

What were you expecting?
Do you think anyone here cares for any all-chinese final in any draw ?

Of course not.

People here care for a Gauzy challenging and winning with his own style no one can copy.

People here care for Truls for the same reasons.

People here care for Japan and South Korea cos' they show sportmanship and emotions, and because they truly challenge the chinese robots that have killed ALL creativity in this game.

People care for Europe cos' it's where the fans shout the most, make more noise but respect ALL athletes, not like DHS pussies.

At least in basket-ball USA is being challenged and does not win everything, they trash talk but they show emotions and they respect their opponents. But any basketball player will tell ya the holy grail in to be hired by a franchise in the NBA.

And more of it all, it's because China is not a free democracy, even in its sport's system, just ask yourself why Fan Zhendong decided to retire, the only chinese athlete I've ever respected cos' he's always been respectfull, cos' he's shown his emotions and interest in the other universal things like music and football.

This is why NOBODY cares for China in table tennis today ANYMORE.

She can't blame it on that at this point.

Other than ATTC 2023 and Asian Cup 2025, WYD has lost to non-teammates in every international and continental major from WTTC 2023 (Of note here is that R32 WYD 2-3 Hirano at Singapore Smash 2023 started the momentum). That's way worse than LGY.

WTTC 2023
QF WYD 3-4 Hayata

Asian Games 2022
SF WYD 3-4 Hayata

WTTC 2024
WT F WYD 0-3 Hirano

World Cup 2024
R16 WYD 1-4 Harimoto

ATTC 2024
WT F WYD 2-3 Harimoto
WS R16 WYD 0-3 KKY

World Cup 2025
Grp3 WYD 1-3 YJN

WTTC 2025
QF WYD 1-4 Ito

Oh I forgot something: my dear friends in Taïwan, I will never call this free nation "taïpei" to please China, NEVER. Why do you think everyone roots for Taïwan ? because China wants to invade it, or at least to control it like it did with Hong-Kong.

You "free democracy" pious claptrap pushers are somehow the ones who call Chinese players pussies, robots and all sorts of incendiary names because they play in a disciplined way in a competitive sports. You're also the ones who never show any respect to the Chinese and can hardly find instances when they've not been polite to your players. You're seeing the players celebrating their wins and points with emotion and glee but that's not emotional enough in your malevolent worldview.
The Japanese and Koreans barring the choppers have all modelled their games on the Chinese with coaches and training partners from China, so in addition to being a bigot and racist, you're old, loud and wrong. No wonder you're mad.
And for your info, there are billions of people who care about Chinese table tennis and want to see them continue to play brilliantly. And there are people on this platform who want them to win too. So, Suck It.

That's where the bile stems from, A-OK. Very understandable. Taiwan deserves it's autonomy and right to self determination.
Just when I thought the self-righteous mantra you guys espouse has always been "hate the CCP, love the people." So it's always been hate the people too all along eh?

Well like I said, it started when LSD complained about how bias the fanbase was. Then a sequence of "bad manners" of LSD made things worse.

Nah, you are reaching. I do want other nations to win, but definitely not because of politics nor other things that you listed above.
d
Their supposedly 'robotic' playing style is actually very pleasing to see. It shows the countless hours of effort that they have spent in training, and I respect that.

I'd love to see others win because it will spice things up and bring more viewers and players in.

Well like I said, it started when LSD complained about how bias the fanbase was. Then a sequence of "bad manners" of LSD made things worse.
LSD is one strange person then. They are WCQ's fangirls, so it's obvious they don't like you.

This is your personal opinion. Please do not use “People”. Not everyone thinks like you.
