Just wanted to know if anyone had tried the new Donic bluegrip j series( J1, J2 and J3)
That's awesome and look forward to more impressions! Hope you played with Bluegrip C2 and you can compare it to J2So the first 3 hours are played and here some impressions.
Grip of both sheets is excellent. I'm still developing my VH/BH Flips, but it was much easier and controlled with the J's compared with the Z52.5 and O8 China I currently play on my W968.
Also the dampening of the harder sponges are also very noticeable in short game and during serves. It's easy to generate short spinny balls.
Passive blocks are also very good and controlled. No "dead" feeling that I had with the H3 (even boosted).
When activating the sponges the sheets come alive and especially the J1 gets faster very quickly. It's something to get used to. So it is too early to make a judgement. I assume the sponges need still some hours of training until they reach there nominal feeling.
As expected the arc of J1 is slightly lower than with O8C, but I had no trouble to adjust. It was a bit more challenging when playing topspin down the line.
I will continue to compare this week and report back any new impression.
Unfortunatly, I have to disappoint you here. I never played C2. I almost always played with XIOM in the past, switched to Joola for a season and by accident got a Bluestar A1 for the last half year on my forehand. That's awesome and look forward to more impressions! Hope you played with Bluegrip C2 and you can compare it to J2
Looking forward to your comparison between J1, J2 and 08 China. Liked the last one a lot on my TMXi Pro.Unfortunatly, I have to disappoint you here. I never played C2. So I can only compare to A1 and other things I tried on FH (H3, Joola ZGR, now testing Xiom O8 China)
okay so how are they different from the other hybrid rubbers in terms of spin while looping etc. also durability wise is it looking gud or bad.So the first 3 hours are played and here some impressions.

alright lessgooo do updateSo here some new observations of another 5 hours of training and training matches with the two setups I currently compare. (Setup 1: W968 with FH O8C and BH: Bluestar A2, Setup 2: TMXi Pro with FH: J1 and BH: J2)
Setup 2 generates more spin both US and TS. This was observed by the number of points directly made with heavy pushes and opening TS on US. Training partners had more problems opening up my pushes and made errors while trying to block my openings. This was confirmed also directly by them. This was true for both FH and BH.
The difference between J2 and O8C is really noticeable. I tried J2 and O8C for my backhand servers and the direct success rate with J2 was much higher than with O8C.
As expected the J2 is harder to activate than Bluestar A2. A2 is much more dynamic in the lower gears, but J2 has the higher speed once activated.
J1 reminds me very much to XIOM J&H C55. I really like it in short/short, flips and block. For topspin on block I have to adapt, as it much faster than the O8C on Setup 1 and also much faster than Bluestar A1, which I played earlier.
So I made a lot of errors on second/third ball, if my better trainings partners blocked my opening topspins.
Since TMXi Pro is much heavier (95g vs 90g W968) this could play a role. But I really like the feeling of the Js, so I will now go ahead and mount the Js to my W968 and continue to play them next week in my training sessions.
With respect to durability it is definitely to early to judge on the Js. O8C is a disappointment in this respect. It now has around 20hours of play and looks totally worn. I still has grip while you play, but the grippy feeling of the rubber is already lost to some extend.
Conclusion so far: Promising enough to continue testing![]()
Thank you for posting the testing updates, I have used C1 and C2, along with A1 and A2, but have been unable to test J1 or J2 max thickness as they were sold out last time I looked. I was looking for new rubber for my girlfriend who is using C1 rubber. Looks promising...So here some new observations of another 5 hours of training and training matches with the two setups I currently compare.
