Amy will have to carry hard lol
while every country is "allowed" 1 x XD pairing
USA has 2
I was hoping they use these 2 wisely, as XD is the event likely for USA to go the furthest in the competition and possibly even medal for in OG.

USA no 1 male and female player is not playing in doubles or XD.
If Kanak and Lily paired for XD, I'm sure this will be one of the strongest pairing from North American in the past decade....

Bosman is also in men's doubles (with Liang, and the Naresh brothers taking the other pair). WD also have 2 pairs.

Overall, with 3 years to go, it does seem like a very interesting journey for Team USA.
would these young ones all feature, or will the older Chinese Americans avail themselves at Olympic trials (and take spots)....

so the young kid is an expert in doubles?
Sid is willing to play off balance strokes without recovery which is a fundamental requirement for strong doubles play in between shots since your partner is there to give you more time to recover. Neither Kanak nor Lily practice this (their strokes are all contained and singles oriented - even backhand oriented). You don't have to be an expert to have a doubles game, just be able to play a certain style on demand or be a lefty. For the most part, Kanak and Lily have neither.

Kanak did quite well in India
even he said so, and he did also say, coming from someone who can't play doubles.

I think OG make maybe people change they minds.
but if this is the choices of the players, I respect that.

where is Nikhail Kumar?
a 22 year old 2700 player

It is good Kanak did well in India, the few times he was forced in Germany, nothing special happened. And of course, we have his mixed doubles in Houston with Wang Manyu as well as another data point.

Nikhil Kumar has family business interests that interfere with his TT play, I don't know whether that played a role here, but it will take a lot of willpower for him to stay in TT.

haha

you can't even get them to pair within USA....
have they decide to focus only on singles?
They are playing doubles, you can read my above Ping Pong Diplomacy message as a subtle hint. Or just BS that I make up until Shine comes in and reminds everyone that nobody knows anything pertaining to the CNT except him. I don't know.
