Hello,

I am looking for a rubber right between the V20 extra and the V15 extra, do you have any Idea ? I play with the V20 extra since six month, I really enjoy it, it has tremendous control and spin, it is very linear (most important point for my game), easy to use. It give me lot of confidence, but sometime I miss the "easy power" of the V15 extra, wich is very addictive because it gives me the feeling of produce a high quality ball without effort (the V15 extra is very impressive for exemple when opponent make a strong attack, and the rubber give to you the ability to destroy it with a huge counter attack). But the downside with the V15 extra is that sometimes it is a bit "to much", noticely in the little game, to push and to serve short, it is more difficult thant with the V20 extra.

To resume with the V20 extra I am super confident and play well, but like sometimes some "dangerousness", and with the V15 extra I am very efficient and it is super addictive but it is a bit to demanding for me, I lack confidence.

I know that it is impossible to have everything perfect, but does exist a rubber that could be a compromise between these two rubbers ? My first Idea would be to stay with the V20 extra but in max thickness (mine is 2mm), but I am open to other propositions. I heard that the Tibhar hybrid MK could be also a nice choice.

Thank you.

My perception:

Rakza 7 ~ Vega Pro
V20 Extra ~ Rakza X ~ Goldarc 8 47.5
V15 Extra ~ Fastarc G1 ~ Goldarc 8 50
V20 Double Extra
(large gap)
Rakza XX ~ V22 Double Extra ~ AGR

These are in the same category of rubber being ESN manufactured, med-high to high arc, linear, easy to play and relatively non-spin sensitive.

I haven’t tried Hybrid MK but as a guess it would fall around V20 Double Extra.

Thank you a lot ZFT. When you say "med-high to high arc, linear, easy to play and relatively non-spin sensitive" it defines exactly what I am looking for. And the V20 extra is nearly perfect for that, but if I could find something similar, but just with a bit more "easy power" on big attack it could be a dream.

I think the V20 extra is the perfect rubber for me if I hit between 1% to 80% of my speed ability, If I want to go over at my maximu speed I have the feeling to force my shot a bit to much, in this case the V15 extra is easier because for the same I speed, I don't need to force that much and so I am more precise (but on the contrary on the slow game it is way harder to control thant the V20).

Maybe take a look at Mantra Pro hard. Should be similar hardness as v20 extra, should be faster than v20 but maybe not as much as v15, and it isnt as spin sensitive as v15 tho I wouldn't classify v15 overly spin sensitive either.

Actually the mantra pro hard I never used, only mantra pro mediun and extra hard but I can imagine what the hard is like.

Mantra pro pricing is very nice on AliExpress and in China. In EU it's overpriced so I advise buying from aliexpress.

can anyone compare V20 Extra with Vega X and Fastarc G-1?
And V20DE with Rakza Z ?

Hi, I can't tell you about Vega X, but I play since 7 month with the V20 extra and I had The G-1 in the past. If I can resume in one sentence : The V20 extra is a modern and better G-1.

It simple, for me the V20 extra do everything better : better grip, power, awesome control and very linear too. The only point where I think the G-1 to be superior is about longevity, because I guess that Fastarc are the best in this department.

If like me you find the G-1 a bit to hard feeling and a bit to demanding, try the V20 extra. They have lot of in common (linear character, huge spin and control, insensitive to incoming spin), but the V20 extra is just more confortable and a bit easier to play (and still very efficient).

I also play with v20 extra. Till now I used it on the FH in 2mm. On the BH I used Tibhar MX-P.

Next week I will prepare my new setup which will be v20 extra on FH in Max and v20 extra in 2mm on the BH. Blade is Yinhe Pro 01.

What I like most with the v20 extra is that I can do everything, but especially block and counter ist great. I also would like to gain just a little bit of extra power, thus I will step up to max on the FH.

For you I could think on one hand about the switch to max or on the other hand to use a faster blade. But I think if you are really enjoying the v20 extra in general for most aspects of your play, I would stick with it.
