Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

I had a hal and I didn’t like it. Hugo plays good with it, but it is not even a tiny connection to whether you like it .

couldn't agree more. all the people praising Tenergy and I cannot play with it. all reviews say how Xiom Vega Hybrid series are slow, but to me it is amazing, can produce heaps of pace with them ... so yeah, couldn't agree more ...

ok, my colleague asked me to do a bit of a research about a blade for him ... he would like to try an inner blade and I started comparing a bit all the innerblades.

I have one from OSP, and if I compare TMXi with it, TMXi looks almost like outerforce, as the "carbon" layer sits much higher in the blade structure ... so I started looking and noticed that TMXi has basically layers structured in such way, that even though it is inner, in comparison to quite a few of them, (Butterfly Harimoto, Franziska and especially Innerforce) it looks like a outer "carbon" blade ... or is it just me?

I reached out to Xiom regarding Hugo HAL blade. They informed me that they will soon release details about the new blade that Hugo will be using moving forward (not HAL).

So his current blade only looks like the HAL but is actually a new prototype?

Personally I believe he is still playing HAL.

Other brand like Joola, Tibhar, Andro can make their blades.
Hal was really popular in my area where Butterfly is winning.
I like Revoldia more than FZD CNF which is funny but they are faster than Hal but concept is good...I think this green Volteema Carbon without carbon would be game changer for Andro.
Donic with Waldner Senso and Person Power Play and loyal fanbase can put pressure and change something and add some triangular perpetuum etalyra and people will love it but they are busy with new shirt collection for Zhang Jike and know they design wife beater with gold dragon on to show his muscles..

about HAL - how does it play, actually? it was said to be a nice replacement for Moonbeam, but looking at some "numbers" in tests I see, there are differences ... asking someone who actually played with the blade, not just had it in the hand for a few minutes ...

how does it play? is it vibrating a lot? if I understand numbers correctly, it has speed close to TMXi which I have, but control is higher and ballgrab is a bit lower ... but some test say that the dwell time is above average ...

to clarify, moonbeam does not play like hugo hal! moonbeam is way slower (maybe because it is super old and full of sweat) but also has limba as outerply and therefore different playing properties.

CNF blades are different too. yes they are soft, elastic and fast but they have sooo much catapult. they are closer to a fast 5 ply woodblade like mazunov then an outercarbon in my opinion.

right now i don't know of any blade that plays similiar like my blade. it is really a blade that plays inbetween outer and inner fibre blades with the touch of allwood

honestly, I wanted the HAL blade for so long, and now that it's available, Hugo ALX Pro is discounted, too and am in doubts ... and am going back and forth and back and forth.

and, on top of that - I am really satisfied with my TMXi blade, but is FL handle and I prefer ST handle ... !!

so with HAL, there are not a lot of vibration? because a lot of people say it is quite a soft blade and soft blades tend to vibrate a bit more, which I do not like too much ...

if you like the tmxi blade (not the pro right?) than i would not buy HAL. my doubles partner plays the tmxi and it is completely different feeling, trajectory, catapult, handle and everything. you would need to adapt your whole game and this is just time wasted that you can't use for actual training, especially if you are happy with your blade. if you are a hobby player then just buy it, but then you also don't need to ask those questions anyway because it doesn't matter...

true, valid point. not a professional anymore, but still playing on rather high level (also practicing with kids, U14 and U16 and sometimes you really have to be on top of the game to be able to play with them properly). I had a good blade, but it was vibrating too much ... so I got TMXi which I got more on coincidence, because I just went to shop to try the handles of Xiom Stradivarius at the time (DHS handles are really not to my liking, i.e., and was afraid it would be that kind of handle), and they had a couple of different blades there (36.5 ALX and ALXi, ARX, ZL Pro) and when I grabbed TMXi something clicked and walked away with that blade. but they only had FL handles, but played practically my whole life with ST handle ...

HAL is much slower than Moonbeam. I played two Moonbeams and even the slower and lighter one (~90g) is faster and stiffer than my 96g Viscaria. But Moonbeam has a softer touch, because of Limba outer and Arylate without Carbon. HAL and Viscaria have similar construction, both Koto outer and around 5.8mm thick, again with the main difference in the artificial layer, HAL only "Hyper axylium", Xiom's name for Arylate and Viscaria of course ALC. Moonbeam is around 7mm thick, maybe even 7.1 or 7.2mm, therefore much faster, stiffer and also heavier (90-100g).

@K.K I think your Moonbeam must have some sort of defect, it is a real OFF+ blade, never heard or read another opinion.

HAL is softer and vibrates more than an outer ALC like Viscaria, but in general it is not soft and doesn't vibrate much. In my opinion HAL is the perfect blade for players that like outer ALC blades, but are looking for a bit slower and more controlled or more forgiving option. Nonetheless HAL has much more power than a regular 5-ply OFF- blade.

thanks for pointing that out. it wasn't mine but one of my clubmates. it was way more catapulty then the HAL but more demanding in far from the table. also different rubbers then mine and he played it since a loooooong time, so full of sweat and glue and therefore super soft already. so maybe you are right and this one is just a thinner and lighter one on the big scale of different weights you can have, but still a very different blade then hugo HAL and would never advise it as something even close to similar.
