With the ongoing US Smash, there have been remarks noting that the ball tends to drift long due to altitude and the table. And we have seen many upsets so far which make the match ups more unpredictable. Reminds me of how in Wimbledon, balls skid off faster on grass.
With how Smash events are modelled, why not introduced 4 different brands of table where the feeder, contender and star contender events used the same type of table leading up to the 4 Smash events respectively in a calendar year. (To help players adopt to the change)
Certain conditions may favour 3rd ball attack style while other conditions may favour prolonged rallies. Maybe we get to see choppers again.
