As I said, there is more money/value watching the owners play each other

maybe should have an allstar game where owner vs players (provided MLTT can afford appearance fees of the all star owners)

Is this not a bigger deal than people are making it out to be? Obviously we Americans would have loved if Ovtcharov/LYJ/FZH joined MLTT as players, but still - some of the top players in the world investing in high level table tennis in the United States? This strikes me as unprecedented, and a boon for US TT.

I think hiding the financial numbers does not fit well with most pro sports we know of.
maybe it is a small number.... and not good to be shared?

Sure. I imagine—table tennis players not being famously high earners compared to certain other sports—that these players' investments are not sizable, but it is still 1) investment coming from outside the United States and 2) major celebrities of the sport attaching their name to it. It's like Nikola Jokić or Steph Curry investing in the British Basketball League or something. (Though US basketball players certainly have more money to invest...)

I imagine—table tennis players not being famously high earners compared to certain other sports—that these players' investments are not sizable, but it is still 1) investment coming from outside the United States and 2) major celebrities of the sport attaching their name to it. however, I would rather have US based backers, and not international table tennis players backers.
in fact, the US based backers should not be from the table tennis fraternity, but should be supporters and wanting to get involved with the sport.
The NBA guys involved is cool, but I'm still very interested to see the direction on how MLTT will go full scale.

This would be ideal, yes.

And to be clear, I'm not aware of any NBA players investing in MLTT (or BBL, which is actually defunct now lol); it was just a hasty metaphor. "FZD investing in MLTT is like Steph Curry investing in BBL..." In other words, a big name investing in what is considered a minor sport in another country. If an NBA player wanted to drop big money on MLTT though I'd be all for it 🤑.

MLTT is getting very little TV money. ESPNews (not ESPN) shows 1 hour MLTT highlights as filler programming.

This week MLTT will be shown in a programming block with Axe and Knife Games, Omegaball, Pillow Fighting, and Kickball.
