No, the grip is still good and the Js are still controlled in the lower gears. It is more that the catapult effect is now starting stronger and is accelerating even more towards higher gears. I assume it is the sponge that gets more reactive and maybe my strokes are not hard enough to already break-in faster. I'm not a 2000+ USATT player (more in the range of 1700-1900), so my training is maybe not as intensive (e.g. harder topspin vs. topspin is not my routine). My game is more living from spin and placement vs. pure power. I can finish a point, but only when it is clearly a winner (it should never come back, or I'm too slow to recover and make a quality shoot after that).

Also I'm tall with long arms. So I can generate power without needing the additional catapult from the sponge.
how's the durability so far? u think its worth purchasing over dignics 80/05 or stiga dna series?

The package on the J rubbers says it has a special Chinese stickiness.
How sticky is the topsheet?

I only have them played for 10+ hours. So far no wear is showing and grip is still excellent. Don't have the mentioned rubbers to compare and its way to early to tell. I will sell them, so some else has to answer

any new update on durability? J1 is currently discounted on TT11 and would love to try it, but if durability is poor then I wouldn’t go on this train …

Rakza Z seems to be holding up quite well, some 20 hours of play later it still looks like new (except it shrunk a bit). and will be ordering another one (now I have black 2.0 for FH and will be ordering another one in 2.0 for BH) but ordering only one rubber is a bit meaningless, so looking for other options to go with …

Hope someone can help on durability for J2 too. Please indicate the hours of playing.

hey how's it looking so far need more updates
Sorry for not updating here. After my coach returned the experiment was over ;)
He clearly showed my, that I'm to slow for the rubbers, so I quit using them after like 15h.

I'm back to old setup with Z52.5 and replaced Xiom Omega 8 China (which was already done after like 30h) with C52.5, which I hope will last longer. If not, I will go back to Donic Bluestar A1.

Hello there!
I'm also very interested in this, I have used J1 for 10 hours now and I love it, so much so that I bought enough for the whole season as they had a sizable discount on TT11, I really hope they last!
I have used K3 before this but as much as I really liked it for the first two-three weeks (even up to a month), the loss of tackiness and all that makes it great (it still felt good to me after a month, just not great and not enough to justify 50 euros expense every month) made me look for something else. J1 is and feels harder, but it was a very fast adjustment (I have always liked very hard rubbers on my forehand), I can say until now I like it even a bit more than K3 and find it perfect for my game. I will let you know how it's holding up in a couple of weeks!
P.S. it's my first post here, but I have been a silent reader on the forum for a long time :)

Glad for your review, if durability is better than C55 than I give it try. But how do u compare it to H3 BS ?

Hi!
I have never used H3 BS. I am lazy and I don't like to boost so I think it's not for me. The only other hybrids I have tried are K3 (that to me feels definitely softer and more catapulty, I like J1 a bit more) and Bluegrip C2 (that I had for some months years ago and liked it but then I stopped playing for a long while).

I really don’t get it - he doesn’t allow you to play either J-series, but lets you play with A1? A1 is definitely one of the fastest rubbers, I really doubt that any tacky rubber is faster than A1 … because the tack alone slows it down. haven’t played with Z52.5 yet, but I guess it isn’t the slowest, but I dare say it is faster then J-series.

Maybe it has to do with my technique how I hit the balls, but I can manage the second and third topspin with ease with the A1 and Xiom J&H rubbers, but failed to do so with the Js. Especially when blocking is not just passive, but more towards spin blocks. Under time pressure, the error rate with the Js was visibly higher than with the XIOM rubbers or A1

Is your coach really sure about that? When testing some setups recently I had issues getting spin in my loops with the heaviest setup. Even when playing regular drills. Fix: step back a bit.
There is simply a lower limit on how compact I can execute a proper loop given a certain setup weight (blade/rubber combination). If one needs a larger stroke than one has to step back a bit.
