Among the absolute worst rubbers out there. Unremarkable (but average) topsheet grip, very low rebound, very low throw angle. Literally just terrible in every way.

FH: DHS H3 NEO (C) 2.2mm 40 degrees.
BH: DHS TiN Arc 3 35 degrees 2.1mm


I’m converting to change the rubbers, but they must be affordable, so no
European rubbers, no Butterfly, No Thibar, no Andro, no Donic.

I want Tacky Chinese FH and 40 degrees or more hardness.
bh I would like s moderately soft semi tacky rubber.

Any suggestions?

Oh and I think $45 for even just the Long 5 itself is a steal, but how does it play?
Is long 5 hard? How does it compare to 9mm Hinoki. What is the wood? how does it play.

Are you sure that a $45 Long 5 is authentic? I would be very suspicious of this.

Just go provincial H3 Neo Blue Sponge 40 and provincial H3 Neo Orange sponge 37/38 for FH and BH respectively. You could also try the H8-20 or H8-80 in the provincial version for BH (also 37 or 38 degrees). All should be boosted 2 layers but that’s just a suggestion by me it’s up to u how u boost rubbers

It’s $45 with rubbers. He use to play table tennis in primary school and doesn’t play anymore. I think he’s kinda spoilt kid or thing. I asked him about his bat one day and he said he wanna sell. Seeing the bat i thought that it would be in the 200s, but he doesn’t know value. He said he wants to make a quick buck and would sell it to me for $60. Brought it to $45 noting handle being a bit dirty with sweat, and its mine.

I trust the authenticity, as he showed me the picture and i saw his bat made having the rubber protectors. It is the same one used in Sin Ten, the white plastic. And since most people purchase their bats from Sin Ten (at rather high prices, which is why i started glueing my own rubbers) i trust their authenticity. I think i just god a deal of a lifetime

I’m quite an amateur, and I don’t have booster but I use VOC glue which may work. Oh and I’m not playing competitions to no worries. I looked up at the prices and just for standard blue sponge hurricane its already out of my budget. $70 for one rubber is a bit too much.

Is it viable to use Orange Sponge H3 NEO on forehand, just harder? If not, are there other Chinese brand alternatives, like Sanwei, Z29 series or Yinhe.

Forehand: Double Happiness Hurricane III NEO (Commercial), Black, 38deg, 2.15mm
Backhand: Yasaka Mark V, Red, MX

Has great feeling and wonderful control, from the basically OFF- Korbel. H3 is a very strict rubber, which develops my shots very well. As for Mark V, it has some of the best control I've seen, with great feeling, good spin, and okay speed.

I am currently planning (not really, but in like, early 2026)

40 degrees or harder is very difficult to develop in (@greenbeanmachine, 2025), I'd much more recommend a 39 one. 40 deg is good tho, but 39 might work for you better.

It is VERY viable to do so. I'd recommend it over almost every other rubber, except for like 2.
Sansei has Target Pro, 729 had Battle II and Focus III (Battle II is one of the two I recommend MORE than H3), and Yinhe has Jupiter (II or III) and Big Dipper.

Not so bad, i think enough for my level.
But it's not the original one, but an AliExpress found copy that Sanwei support do not know.
On the sponge of the copy I am using there is a stamp with a cinese ideogram followed by an H, traducing it means "Mid Hard", furthermore the sleeve of the package is metal grey instead of white, this i will call from now on "fake SGH".
Furthermore i bought two original copies from Ten Corp (checz vendor of DHS and other chinese and romanian brand) with hardness 38 and 39: they have a stamp with "Hardness 38" and "Hardness 39" respectively, both in a white package: I opened the 38 one to check how it seems: hardness seems the same as my fake copy, topsheet seems to be same, slightly tacky and quite stiff.
Now i bought another 729 Yellow ALC blade where i mounted the rubber i previously used, a Xiom Omega V Asia and a Spinlord Keiler II, in order to comparate the two setups and make a more accurate analysis.
At a first rebound test XO5A seems to be slightly faster than fake SGH, as I expected.
XO5A is a rubber with 50° (euro scale) stiff tensor sponge and a very soft slightly tacky topsheet (less than hybrid modern models and less that SGH), very effective on my previous TSP Black Balsa 5.0 FL blade, and very effective in both slow and fast strokes.
The fake SGH I am using has a stiff and semitacky topsheet but a softer tensor like sponge: my purpose is to establish if it is better stiff sponge with elastic topsheet (XO5A) or a more balanced hardness between sponge and topsheet (SGH or similar like H9, H8-80 or H3NEO that I do not know but I might test in future).
I hope these information can be useful.
