This might be already answered but I cannot find any information about this. If Hurricane 3 Neo is just a factory tuned (boosted plus glue) Hurricane 3 and as most players say that H3N needs boost then what is the difference from a Hurricane3 (non NEO) that is boosted from the player? What is the reason to buy H3N instead of H3 if you are going to boost?

I believe the normal H3 sponge is 2.2mm and H3Neo sponge is 2.1mm so for those who want to boost and participate in tournaments that have racket control testing it’s best to go with H3Neo that way less likelihood of failing racket test if overboost.

Nope, there are both neo and non-neo versions of H3 with 2.1, 2.15 and 2.2 thicknesses.

However, H3 NEO produced after some date are not tacky anymore, the sponge is much more lively and requires less boosting.

Non neo in my experience is still much more tacky, the sponge is completely dead without boosting.

It seems that no one really knows the reason, but speculating that DHS changed the formula to suit better for 40+ plastic balls.

Some like newer non-tacky H3 more than old one, for some it's the other way around...I think newer NEO version is suitable for most players.

However, my w968 completely sucks balls with the new H3 and excels with tacky H3 or 729 Battle II, which is also tacky, but less powerful 🤷‍♂️

edit: addition. H3 NEO is fine on my more stiff blades, even on 5 ply Neottec Voodoo Classic. It produces less spin than tacky H3 over the table, but the sponge is faster in general.

Completely disagree. Even my oldest H3 Neo, that I kept for years, are tacky as hell. After cleaning, they lift the ball with ease.

the substance you call booster in tt slang is VOC free and classed as food safe(there are some products for which this is not true though), anything short of dipping the VOC meter in a bottle of that stuff will pass the racket VOC test.

Organic as in VOC (volatile organic compounds) as in speed glue. Inorganic Neo was released after speed glue ban.
correct

H3 is for speed glue
Neo is for booster.

I did test H3 with booster long ago, can't really remember the difference.
been using Neo for as long as I can remember

I forgot that DHS put their Handbook of DHS T.T. Products online...

Page 84
"What's the difference between NEO rubber and organic rubber? Can NEO rubber use organic glue?
The difference between NEO rubber and non-NEO rubber lies in the strengthening treatment of the sponge, not the organic or inorganic glue used when gluing the racket.
Because NEO rubber undergoes a strengthening treatment, it's generally not recommended to use organic glue with the racket.
The rapid expansion of organic glue can damage the cell walls of the NEO reinforced sponge. This may have a significant initial acceleration effect, but it will also affect the sponge's durability.
When using organic glue with organic rubber, the sponge cells can be fully expanded, allowing it to fully develop its elasticity.
Note: When we refer to organic glue and inorganic glue, we generally refer to the type of glue used to bond the rubber to the base.
Glue is also required when the sponge and rubber are bonded together. With the ITTF raising VOC requirements in 2008, the sponge and glue used in DHS rubbers were uniformly switched from organic glue to water-soluble inorganic glue."

Explain please. Does organic here stand for plant based rubber as it is gained from the rubber trees drip for drip ? (As in latex) ??)
