Chila was there for Jianan, but not for Alexis.
For sure there are some kind of drama in progress right now in the French team... Don't know what...
Strange to see Alexis without a coach. I wonder why he couldn’t use Chila as the coach if Molin didn’t go. I believe Gauzy game is on later tonight so we will see if he has a coach or not.

Usually men's and women's teams have different coaches. Chila is on Gauzy's bench now, though. Maybe he was too busy preparing with him to coach Alexis?

Couldn't stay for the back half of SYB vs. Odo. Satsuki must be an escape artist.
Not at all, the match just flipped on narrow margins and I think 10-4 in the decider made Shin relax and then she won 5 points in a row and lost a good match point where Odo realized aggression was the only way. All the games were by minimum margin so these players are as closely matched as reasonably possible. And of course,, without the loss, we cannot mention "Only good for doubles" which are not in Champions events...

Interesting match between Hugo and An Jaehyun. There was a high focus on touch game, both very content to push and wait for opportunities to counter.

AJH had major leads in set 1 and set 2, and threw the lead twice. In set 2, it was even 8-1 at one point I believe, and Hugo still came back. To me, it seems like Hugo just kept playing his game, while AJH got nervous, hesitant and passive when being close to the finish line. AJH definitely has to work on his mental game
Hugo has shown this ability a lot and I think it is often a disservice to the opponent to make this largely about them. Hugo plays more aggressive when he is down a lot and it takes more to disrupt him. An has also never beaten Hugo so it becomes harder ro think about it when you are down by more. The problem for An is that usually in most matches he is confident he has the more powerful forehand with better footwork. This isn't how it works against Hugo so he doesn't know where to get his points from consistently.

Here's the clip:
Hopefully the strength and conditioning coaches can fix whatever the kid has because that looks like something that shouldn't have caused an injury. Would be a shame for us to lose a talent at this level if it is preventable with better physical training. But it is possible he has something congenital because he seems to be missing for longer periods than most.

He ran hard into the corner of the table, am I missing something?

If it was the collision that caused the injury then that was likely a fracture, how they let him come back after that is crazy to me. But I thought it was something in the fall after. Hence my mistaken comments.

I hope @joshmak10 doesn't give up on Huang because of the loss to Quadri. The young shall grow and the old shall slow...
Ah but ofc, I should be having the NL mentality, defend this young prodigy Baby WCQ because of his win against Harimoto and because he is the world youth champion and as such pardon all his losses to those he should be beating…

What makes you say he should be beating Quadri?

Do pros actually look at their own history before commenting on the calendar? Like Aruna, CIC has not played more in WTT era.

Is there a reason why the draw of players seems to be very repeated? I seem to recall that we are seeing similar match up all the time?

E.g. Felix met Lee Sang Su twice in the past year at the Star contender and Champions. While Dang Qiu played against Kanak Jha in Yokohama Champions, Singapore smash and I believe Chongqing Champions late last year as well?

1) she is getting older, injuries don't recover as easily as when you a teenager. The threshold of table tennis in the 20s is also different when you in the 30s.
2) CIC been carrying this injury the whole of 2025, and in fact from 2024, and there wasn't a long stretch of time for her to really recover.
She does have the luxury to travel with medical staffs, where many players doesn't.
3) Coexisting with injury is normal for table tennis players today (which is sad), some times you can overcome the pain, some times you can't. That's just life of a pro table tennis player.

Its funny that so many players (including CNT players) talk about overloading, yet you are here disagreeing with this issue.
Why dont you factor in mathematics if you are so into it, and give some inflation with the 40+ ball too?
