If you are clearly ready and you played the point and you lost the point, rather than being complicit with the umpire, dump the ball into the net if you want to show fair play. The same can be said for the 2nd point where both players see that it did not touch the net and played the point as such with XP losing on the edge.

Why he should dump ball into net? He is not responsible for umpire mistake. If it was even mistake

Wide carder Anna Hursey met with the current best female player SYS. Anna is only 19 and from a little known Europe country in terms of table tennis. Anna managed to take a game from Sun, a remarkable feat from a teenager. She is a very rare European girl who plays like Asian with lightening speed from both wings.

If she keeps developing, she very likely will be Europe's best female player in a few years.

Well, turns out Anna has 50% Chinese blood and spent years in Tianjin, China training table tennis. No wonder she plays like Chinese. Regardless, she has fast reflex, fearless with high quality shots. With experience and better handling of shot balls, she's only gonna get better.
she spent most of her younger years in Harbin, and trained with the Heilongjiang provincial team/coaches

Patrick was robbed on both points. On the first point, umpire says "he's not ready" ... XP 100% absolutely was ready and played the point as such. On the 2nd point, umpire calls a non-existent let (net on serve) after both players play the point and Franziska wins. You can easily see the ball clear the net on the side view replay.

Fortunately, Franziska wins the match. Just bad umpiring with a complicit XP.
at 7:7 I slowed all the way down to 0.2x speed , it's definitely NOT A NET.

Bad sportsmanship for XP.

Worse yet, CNT bought all the umpires? The umpire should have been replaced. Unprofessional.

I am so happy Patrick won!! Also for the reason how he's supportive for FZD in Germany

How about USA's Sally Moyland - similar story?
She grew up in Taiwan, still spends most of her time in Taiwan
comparing with Anna, Anna is way less time in China nowadays

how good can she get?
Sally at 15 was ranked number 2 in Taiwan's U19 national trials.
she opted to play for USA and forfeited a lot of financial resources from Taiwan's sport department, but USA would give her as much WTT entries as she wishes (self funded though), since USA's women is a lot weaker on depth than Taiwan.

She had a major knee surgery, which I hope won't trouble her any more. She is a very tough fighter, and being very lonely in USA some times, have made her cherish the training when she is back in Taiwan even more.

for interest sake, she went to the same elementary school as this girl I showed in this post:

Her mom moved her back to Taiwan to train full time, and that has helped her a lot in her TT career.
It is probably way cheaper to factor in flights + training in Taiwan, than 1 on 1 coaching in USA.

Sally is looked after by Taiwan's Cathay Life, here is her uniform:
She didn't live at they base, but Sally is considered as an out of base sponsored player.

both Anna and Sally has great potential, Sally with the aid of Pan America ranking point.
In terms of level and international experience, Anna is ahead.

Good point. Fans tend to idealized pros like saint with ultimate sportsmanship. In reality, pros are just regular human beings making a living in table tennis.
If you watch American NBF or NFL, you know winning is everything with every means necessary as long as not caught by refs. Table tennis, on the other hand, is relatively clean sport. We shouldn't demand too much on these pros.

Not surprised here as Franziska is a well known Chinese giant killer, beating a fragile little giant like XP is within his reach. is Franziska the only German who has winning record against all recent Chinese top players(ML, FZD, XX, etc)?
There is a big difference between having wins over said players amd having a winning record vs said players.

At this time, Anna is a good distance ahead of Sally. Anna is way faster and quality of shots is better. If Sally spends most time in USA, her growth is limited.
In my view, Ana's has a very high upper ceiling.

Togami vs Oh should be the last match I watch tonight - would love to watch Kanak but I have to be up early tomorrow and I think even Togami vs Oh is pushing it.
Very disappointed in the style that Togami played against a clearly competent Oh. It suspect some of if was because his personal coach was not around but regardless, Togami has to do better, if he cannot change speeds with Zyre, he is better off playing with something else lol.

Is she? Sally recently beat Amy, and Amy recently beat Anna...

It is very difficult to judge quality of shots just from video.

because many highly regarded sportsmanship players from CNT does that
in fact, many of them will correct the umpires mistake
but it does seem like XP is very hungry for every point he can get, including that of umpires mistakes.

XP can choose what camp he wants to be in, that is his own prerogative.
CNT fans are also not united as the past and now extremely divided with its own fanboy/girl club. XP's act will also be question by some disgusted fans.

Sally hasn't played enough seniors to justify her position imo
Anna has some good wins that I feel Sally wouldn't exactly match.

I actually wonder how much funding Anna gets
We all know Sally gets nil or close to it from USATT

I think they're similar level players, and if there is a difference then it isn't a "good distance".

Oh’s fh is just way stronger than Togami (his physique too). I was thoroughly impressed. It felt like Togami was trying to catch up the entire time.
