For the 4:4, I think XP genuinely thought it was a net, but the umpire interpreted it as he was not ready. For 7:7, the umpire said it did not hit the edge, and XP just stayed silent. I blame the umpires more than XP personally.

What is the context? Do we know why she withdrew? Do we know that it wasn't her doubles partner that withdrew?

I didn't remember exactly, but found it again:

A back injury picked up by Hursey during the match meant she and fellow Welshwoman Charlotte Carey were unable to fulfil their Women’s Doubles match against Ng Wing Lam & Zhu Chengzhu of Hong Kong, who went through by walkover.

Oh’s fh is just way stronger than Togami (his physique too). I was thoroughly impressed. It felt like Togami was trying to catch up the entire time.
Did you not see Togami's FH winners in the first 2 games?
I say games 1&2 because I'm watching it right now at 1-1. Haven't seen any evidence for your statement, yet!

Hmmm.. I know what you mean but I don't think many would agree with how you describe it - I have had similar arguments with people comparing Quadri's forehand to Truls's forehand. What I like about Oh's game is that he moves more than his father does, but he has the same ball control instincts and incredible anticipation.

because many highly regarded sportsmanship players from CNT does that
in fact, many of them will correct the umpires mistake
but it does seem like XP is very hungry for every point he can get, including that of umpires mistakes.

XP can choose what camp he wants to be in, that is his own prerogative.
CNT fans are also not united as the past and now extremely divided with its own fanboy/girl club. XP's act will also be question by some disgusted fans.

I remember only 1 case like this. Don't remember who it was but for sure just 1 or 2, not many.

The umpire said it was a net and XP stayed silent. It was obviously not a net and XP should know it better than the umpire.
Yeah as much as i love XP, his actions this match were questionable

I think they're similar level players, and if there is a difference then it isn't a "good distance".
Sally doesn't have much senior match experiences, both in WTT/internationals and pro leagues.
Anna on the other hand has beaten a lot of Taiwanese players that is stronger than Sally.

Based on actual performances, TTR actually has Anna ahead by 50 points, but Sally has so little participation that TTR gives her bonus points every quarter. I actually feel they are about 100 points different in gap at the moment and Sally does have the ability to narrow the gap. For context, Sally inflated points makes her 10 points higher than Lily, and 50 over Amy

here is the 2024 to 2025 point gain/loss, you can see Anny has a lot more higher tier and senior matches

Sally 2024 till now

Anna 2024 till now:

Anna also has a 19w 7l record in 1BL German last season, something that I doubt Sally can match as yet (since she lacks experience)

no forehand Harimoto is no good
Hahaha. All the TTD experts still think he should just play like a crab and always use his backhand.

Japanese coach: Harimoto, why did you lose? Why didn't you use your secret technique to "make him have unforced errors"?

Harimoto: "What?? how do I do that? You told me to just stand parallel in the middle of the table and play like a crab"

Coach: "Did you consult the experts on TTD before your match?"

Is there a reason why the draw of players seems to be very repeated? I seem to recall that we are seeing similar match up all the time?

E.g. Felix met Lee Sang Su twice in the past year at the Star contender and Champions. While Dang Qiu played against Kanak Jha in Yokohama Champions, Singapore smash and I believe Chongqing Champions late last year as well?
DHK meeting CXT for the nth time.
I think 1/4 seeds was meant to shake up the draws but so far it's doing the opposite. :ROFLMAO:

At least for me if anyone calls a net, I treat it as a net and never argue. I don't really play umpired games but there are tons of times when my opponent calls a net that I didn't see, I don't bother arguing about it. If an umpire called it, I sure as heck wouldn't argue either regardless of whether I won or lost the point.

Exactly my philosophy too...
Better to simply accept rather than wasting energy and possibly get agitated...

Cheers
