I've learned from the YouTube chat during the Cappadocia II tournament that WTT Finals will *not* include WD or MD, only XD. I wanna know what the thought process was in deciding to get rid of gender based doubles. One of the greatest, most entertaining doubles match last year was the Sato/Hashimoto vs. SYS/WYD match at the 2024 WTT Finals. Oh no... we can't have that level of excitement!
But least marketable. No money, no talk. Bring home the bacon.

MD/WD are the two least popular events by participation, even after their revival for LA28.

HAPPY CROOKIES

Kick out cheaters in door, and they will come back in window. WTT did now set up TTR video control purposely, to get rid of the crooky savers, and they still unable to cope boosters and low friction materials inside the playing court. They even didn't make a slight effort to do so. Fest of cheaters -- this is the stigma on forehead they deserve very well.

completely deviating from the topic above, heading to hong kong in December while the WTT final is happening. When are the tickets usually released? I figure I will be fighting against a lot of AI Bots
Just make a WTT account. You will get notified when tickets for big events become available.

Are no points offered for WTT finals? Found nothing on WTT website. ITTF ranking records also do not list any results for WTT Finals Fukuoka 2024.

Points for 2024 expired last month. Why the point table is not there over at WTT site is anyone's guess.

Miwa playing WMY for first round? Poor girl, either a 9th consecutive losing streak or start of her revenge then yata girl.

In the old finals system, maybe my memory was off, but there was a rigorously 1-16 pairing system. 1 played 16 etc. In this new system they followed the WTT approach of only seeding the top 4. I ghink this is extremely myopic and ruins the draw. Of course my personal opinion.as some.love this randomness. But even with randomness, seeding 1-8 would give a better product. Having the prospect of #5 or #6 play #1 or #2 (or even #3 and #4) in the very first round is really really stupid for a format like this. WTT, please rethink this insanity please.

Just a note that starting this year, all singles matches are best of 7. Previously, it was bo7 starting in the SF.

Tough draw for Sora (vs. WCQ) and Miwa (vs. WMY).
Best of seven is smart given the event. Seeding only 4 players is not, given the event.

I know what draw I would prefer to watch, thanks for doing the work. This one rewards players with seeding matchups based on in years performance. Obviously everyone ks dangerous so there are still no easy matches. But it doesn't feel like you are randomly facing incredible hulk in round 1 after a great year.
