Hmmm...you mean in WTT, Togami the surpassed got there first?
Not just in WTT, but ITTF and WTT because Oikawa got his only international MS title at ITTF Challenge Slovenian Open 2018.

Nobody cares about who got there first when Tanaka and Shinozuka, who have never won Zennihon Takkyu, have 2 international MS titles.

Togami got his second Zennihon Takkyu title before Harimoto did, and so?

I don't know about that, Togami's critics talk about what he hasn't done and how every has surpassed him and they
don't care about the fact that he got his WTT Contender before his biggest surpasser got a feeder?

Oh, I forgot, beating China is all that matters...

saw Emanuel quite a few times training in person. A kid also willing to listen and learn.
very promising kid and led by a very hard working and very young Colombian coach.
Kid lives with the coach in Portugal, the coach is both a coach, legal guardian and fatherly figure - huge respect to him.

The kid moved to Portugal when he was 13~14 years old and training full time and he has already trained in Taiwan 2 times in the past 3 months and 4 times the past 12 months, of stints of 10 days to 20 days each.

I have lined up an All Japan high school silver medalist to also be part of his training group in Portugal, looking to also visit the Portugal base soon.
I didn't know him yet, but he's a very nice player. He'll get there!(y)

I just saw his match against Sakai. He could have won that one 1-3 as well, actually (5-7 lead in the 4th set).

I do see some areas for improvement, though. He looks back too much (at his coach?), his footwork definitely needs work because he's often in the wrong position on his backhand, and, as with many players, his forehand is a problem, short behind the net after a service. Also, I would take off the watch he's wearing.

None of these things seem difficult to work on.

I'm going to follow him from now on.

Still getting hung up on that. The Olympic XT event has changed the landscape entirely. Togami and Tanaka are both in a very weak position for being righties.

My bad, I didn't know that when it became obvious your arguments made little sense , you reserved the right to move on pretend and you never made them.

The Olympic XT event etc. will come down to qualifying rules (we still don't know how team members are restricted or not with respect to qualifying for multiple events) and individual performance in qualification events. Those have not been specified for the most part. Even with their limitations as doubles players, Togami has the ability to beat players that Harimoto might struggle with. That by itself makes him a serious option regardless of handedness.

This "surpassing" game has always been your invention that actually started when you refused to recognize Duda was comparable with A. Lebrun (1, 2, 3).

WR8 is the personal best for both Duda in Week 38 and A. Lebrun in Week 21. And Duda took out Calderano 4-0 at Europe Smash 2025 after a close defeat at WTT SCT Foz do Iguaçu 2025 (1W2L), whereas A. Lebrun is 0W5L. What now?

You're pretty slimy sometimes, but it is okay. The game was invented to make fun of your claims about players surpassing Togami based on single match/tournament results. The statement that started the argument is here:

and during the same tournament, this statement:

You clearly believed that both players were either better than Togami or had shown results that made them better than Togami (they were behind in World Ranking, behind in Japan Olympics singles qualiffying etc).

At the time we were discussing whether Uda beating Duda and Togami losing to Alexlis Lebrun, Duda had never beaten Alexis Lebrun. Lebrun was at the top of Europe and had a wave of superlative form. I am not speaking about today, which you want to conflate into the argument and which is your own prerogative. In fact, Uda has not been competitive with Duda in matches after that lucky win from matchpoint down. But I am sure you still believe that Uda> Togami. Such is your wisdom.

Today, I have no problem with saying that Duda's level is now comparable to Alexis and Alexis has lost a bit to injury for sure as well, so he might well be behind. But I also have no problem saying that Togami lost to the better player at that time in March and that using the results to validate your opinion has turned out badly since no one would argue that any of those players is at Togami's level at the moment.
