Who would have thought a deceptive BH serve will give SYS this much trouble
Well I asked a top coach whether it was fair for players to play three events in seven days. He said that their training generally prepares them for it so it is not as big a deal.as it looks on paper for many of them and that their bodies are highly specialized for it. So I guess it is up to everyone to interpet his answer as they see best.that is news to me
they do get tired, in fact, too tired with all these scheduling
WS R16
Hayata 2-3 WMY (7, -3, 9, -6, -7)
U for useless with her 捨身打法/suicidal playing style (can I just say 特攻卓球?), like with Togami.
The BH serve, a hand that was going to be saved for G4 or G5 was forced to be revealed in G3 to take the "false" lead, and if not for all those edges, it wouldn't have gone down to the wire. More scrutiny to come back at home.
Sure, to leap over his head is the only feat that he got to do. Strong legs and vigour mood is the key.can Felix do it?
Its not easy to make improvements. He is probably working on stuff but it will take at least 6 months to 2 years, sometimes more, to manifest in matches as something he can hang his hat on. And this is not something that it is going to be easy to measure by watching him play someone like Lebrun whose backhand gives lots of forehand players fits (WCQ is the exception as a lefty). Hugo is likely the bigger target. Lebrun has a couple of underappreciated advantages when playing power players. While there is no one quite like WCQ, between his brother and the French national team, there is a lot of high quality training on that team. Even some of the lower rated players like Borassaud have special quality.I agree, he looks tired, which probably isn't gonna get better after a 7-game match.
LSD hasn't really made any improvements since he jumped onto the scene. He still has relatively weak footwork and FH and is overly reliant on his BH. If he wants to reach greatness he really needs to work on those 2 aspects.
They would have lynched him.the fan club bosses was starring at him with a big warning sign
Coaching can make a big difference in some of these matchuos. Maybe if Wang Hao is on the bench and feeds Wang Chuqin thr right information, maybe Xiang Peng doesnt take forever to beat.No hate to Felix Lebrun, he fought well but the semi-finals against xiang peng (or even lin shidong vs felix) looked a lot more like a finals game compared to the actual finals. Felix simply did not have an answer against Wang Chuqin
Certainly not gonna be easy, to the point that I'm not sure he can really do it. Also, you can't just play more forehands, you need the footwork to do it. He really needs to improve both significantly to take a step forward. Its not easy to make improvements. In fact watching the video again, Lin Shidong is clearly playing more forehands on many balls, it just that he misses enough of them that the result is not clearly being improved by them.
