We can agree to disagree. Psychological issue explanations have limitations relative to underlying technical issues. I know what I mean when I say his style of play is too cerebral and he needs to focus more on taking initiative than restricting opponents and playing probabilities.

Harimoto's style of play is shit, but even if he turns it around 180, it's gonna be for naught if he remains a self-hating amoeba.

Sora against Truls? Hard to pick. I'll give Sora a slight edge with way he's playing recently. Remember he did beat WCQ in recent Asian games.

If Sora can secure this win, it will do a lot to his confidence. For a young fast rising star, a big event win is a validation to his moral.

Winning ugly is a thing... when Truls did it and beat Lim in Houston, initially people thought he had given up and the ball kept landing on the table. His problem is not his body language, his problem is that he doesn't won. Whether his body language explains that will be told over time.

Especially in the last set where he tired up the score at 7:7. Then he served casually twice and lost both crucial points casually giving back hard earned potential turning point. After that he surrendered and gave Truls last two points without much fight.
But, giving Truls all the credits he deserves who showed such a mastery of first three balls handling handcuffing his opponent all day long. With such a surgical precision, fast reaction and excellent anticipation in close to the table games, off the table top spin rally potency is not as needed as most other pros.

What a dominant performance by Truls. When he's on, he looks like a WR1. He's topped two big events now in pretty close succession but both were in Europe...I wonder if he can get over the hump outside of "home" territory and push towards that top spot.

better days or not depends on his attitude, during the award ceremony he didn't even shake hands or congrats Truls once, that's a sore loser right there, his new name should be Sore Matsushima

Yeah, cut him some slack. There is a thing called personality and individual trait. You can not expect everyone behaves the similar way.
Some people act like duck swimming, calm and stable above the water but peddling like crazy under the water.
