Lack of spin and consistency, Hurricane III or just me?

In my recent playing, I found myself missing shots because of one thing: the ball dives into the net when I make the stroke, and it seems as if the ball has no spin at all. My training partner also says this (that my balls lacked spin compared to before). Sometimes the balls had decent spin though, but still not as good as it once was.

Now, the question is: is this because of the Hurricane 3 (commercial) being low quality, or is it because I can't find the right stroke for it?

There is a reason why people say H3 is meant to be boosted. It can be pretty unforgiving unless it is well broken in. Unless you have access to used pieces of the sponsored player H3 National versions, I would not even bother with Hurricane 3. Just get a modern hybrid rubber like the Donic J1 or Dignics 09C if you don't want to be a masochist and go through boosting and breaking in.

Just leave the H3 to the Booster-Bros(tm), embrace seperinge-seponge. ( バタフライスプリングスポンジX )

If the rubber is new, either a bad glue job, or you haven't got used to it. If the rubber is boosted and old, re-gluing may help as sometimes the rubber bends backward after the boosting effect is gone and ruins the glue in the middle of the bat. You don't need to have ultra mega rare and expensive national player H3, just a provincial version is more than enough. I can't speak much on the quality of the commercial ones, though, as I haven't used it for way too long.

its not that bad, you get a sheet of provincial for 30€, put some haifu on it and then can easily use it for 6 months (still playable for most amateur players after booster has evaporated)

yes, hybrid rubbers are more user friendly, but there is nothing complicated about hurricane

It could well be the rubber, but it can be technique as well. I assume you're looping a topspin? If so, if your stroke is not fast enough (which can happen if you don't get to it quick enough) the trajectory will be much lower and the ball less spinny. This does not happen so much with Japanese/German rubbers.

I agree, its most likely the technique. when I first tried h3 after coming from g1 a few years back, my loops where empty (no spin), low and flat arc that barely cleared the net. I had to learn how to brush the ball, which took a good amount of time

however, I believe OP has used hurricane for a while? if you looped well with every previous h3 and now suddenly you cant anymore, it could be the rubber

Remember that H3 like to be brushed for high spin... So yes the right technique is required. It has a lower throw than most ESN rubbers. You should open your racket angle ever so slightly compared to an ESN rubber except when brushing, but then you need to hit hard.

Update: thank you for all your ideas and suggestions! I will analyze all of them

However, I think I have found the problem. Air moisture. Just earlier I played at a school where it was more dry and there was no problem. Came back to the house and quality started to drop again. Is this it?
Wipe your bat down between points and see if that improves?
