I cannot see LGY/LSW losing to the other quarter-finalists based on the way they have been playing so far. YLC/WYD is arguably the strongest of the other three pairs, so if the Guangdong pair is able to get past the former in the semis, I will be hardpressed to think that KM/CYY or XHD/CXT would prove more challenging?

I watch these Chinese games and it seems like these players are playing like they are in a hurry to go somewhere. I mean, compare it to the Europeans, especially the Euro women games which happens to be comparatively relax, more spin oriented, elegance first, like sort of watching two person dancing the waltz.

Yes, there was a qualification draw back in March. XX opted out of MS, whereas YA and LDS lost.

The LGY choke is greatly overstated. The worst player he has lost to that I remember is Noshad Alamiyan. All the other players (if you don't think he should lose to Noshad who has troubled/beaten other CNT players) were players he could and sometimes should lose to, the fashion in which he lost says more about his style's inherent risk than his mindset. Unfortunately you can't escape the stigma of poor performance.
