While watching FZD vs WCQ I was struck by how effective FZD sends the balls to the leftmost side of the table. The left vertical edge relative to WCQ if you consider the net as horizontal.

It was hard to explain which part of the table I was referring to, so I'm curious if the different parts of the table surface have names? Maybe coaches can say 'practice your serve so that it exits in <section A>', or 'make your loop shots hit <section B>, etc'

They actually have a special name in China for that spot.

If we had naming conventions like chess, you could tell your students: Practice hook serve. First ball bounce on A1, then second bounce D4, ball must exit at D5.

Or Adam Bobrow can comment plays like: Alexis serves A1 to D5! Calderano loops to A3! Alexis blocks to D8! (and people listening on their transistor radios can visualise the game)

They do have some naming conventions, though not well known. The red zone is one if I'm correct, and numbers 1-4 for ball timing.

And cross court, down the line, and the iconic net and edge are some naming conventions that are more popular. Though I do agree more naming conventions should be popularized (probably not like chess tho)

If you meant this point, then it's called 反手撕正手大角/literally "BH rip FH big corner".
