That would be wild if it’s Joola and not Andro. From the prototype blade he was using look more like Andro than Joola unless at that time he had not signed an agreement yet with Andro and was just testing out the equipment to see if he wanted to sign with Andro or not.

It wouldn’t be farfetched if it is Joola since his teammate Vitor Ishiy is using Joola and at recent WTT events he was coaching Hugo whether thats a permanent position or not I’m uncertain. Are Joola paying Vitor Ishiy to coach Hugo?

Before signing an agreement with a table tennis sponsor are the players allow to test out their equipment before deciding whether to switch to that table tennis sponsor or not?

They should have. At least for players who are ranked and visible. But honestly I don´t know. I guess Hugo can create conditions best for him (as testing equipment before signing, since he is still actively playing etc.)

Though on one video with Pongifinty, where they are training with Benedek Olah, Benedek is playing with something resembling Xiom (black sponge rubbers, colour blade). He was playing with Butterfly before, and after this, he was still playing with Butterfly. I don´t know if it was written there in the viode, or his IG or I just imagined, but it seemed to me like he was testing two types of rackets from Xiom, but ultimately did not change to Xiom. But I don´t think he is sponsored by Butterfly like others, at least not in the advertisement and so on.

Vitor pretty much retired from the international scene so he is working as Hugo's sparring partner. Hugo's official coach is Paco (Francisco Arado).

I think Butterfly can adapt a Harimoto inner ALC or SALC for Hugo. Great feedback and control, long dwell time fro away the table power loop. Hugo will have no problem.

This year he still wasn’t the official coach, so he only went to the ones he could. Hugo officially announced him starting next year, so he should be on all competitions for 2026

Is Monteiro still the Brazil Mens Coach. After World Cup 2025 Hugo switch to Paco and hasn’t gone back to Monteiro since that event.

Butterfly has limited option for Hugo, they didnt produce inner arylate, outer arylate,no more hinoki blades except primorac Carbon because the law didnt accept to make kiso hinoki blades anymore,
they didnt care about inner cnf blades, no more inner zlf blades ?! Like we didnt care about amateur players for slower equipment and selling the zyre with slower blade.
Butterfly has still zyre as the best matching rubber for Hugo but they have to pay Timo Boll big money, Ovtcharov and Fan Zhendong are expensive players. Lin Shidong will receive his personal blade. They didnt sold out the Zhang Jikes blades which means there is no Just in Time type of production which is big scar for the Japanese brand....

Revoldia? FZD CNF? I know those are Outer blades, but they have the materials and making an adaptation for a top level player is easily done.
There's also Innershield ZLF and Timo Boll ZLF which can be adapted. The latter feels like it could be quite a good fit tbh.

That's why they made 500, not 5000... BTY knew quite well it was a risky market but appeased Omar Assar and the North African scene in general nonetheless. So far Gewo and BTY are the only ones actively trying to make a move in those regions.

Timo Boll is a legend and popular worldwide. Even after the end of his active career that makes him a better brand ambassador than many other pro players, although of course Butterfly has other high-profile players under contract, too.
