Everyone loops the ball and wears sheets differently, a rubber that can last one month with a player may be good for another player. Your main point that for objectivity he needs to perform a similar test with Dignics does stand. The wear and tear with Dignics is very visible vs Zyre. But maybe visible wear and tear is not an objective measure of durability. And looping might not be the best measure of topsheet wear.
Yes thats why he would need to do it noone else. And also with the same setup(environment balls and table) but even then how you feel on that day might also differ. But thats as close as you can get to objectively judge atleast.

My d09c right now has a visible big hole like pimples on the area where you would push the ball. The ball grips so I am tempted to keep using it. But the most important tournament of the year will be held in 2 weeks from now on so Idk if I should replace with a 2-3week old sheet. If I had spinsight I would try it out but even then it would be nonsense since I would have to peel it off and reglue the other.

So for the future I would test and compare my stats when I get the new sheets on and then then when those values go down I would know ok its wearing down now. Also need to take the average of maybe 50 balls atleast to get a good estimate.

Interesting. Would have thought the super fast and low dwell of szlc would not suit the zyre 03

Or should I say reduce the lower dwell of the z
Zyre 03 even less
Harimoto (or his blade designer) is an interesting guy, he designs his blades for maximum dwell even with fast carbon in the center - i should have checked the frequency before gluing but it is advertised as being very low for an SZLC blase. So the blade feels like a pillow in many ways to someone like me who uses outerforce blades, it is much closer to an overpriced Viscaria when the carbon is activated than an SZLC monster like a Mizutani or ZJK. Part of the reason I tried this blade (if you can try an expensive blade) was because I tried a Harimoto SALC and I liked the dwell but it was too much and slow, I was blocking balls into the net, but I noticed when the ball quality of my opponent went up, it got better. So I thought a faster version of that would work better and it has surprised me in many ways. I still have to practice more with it but so far, I like the balls I have been able to produce. I was struggling a lot to attack backspin with my backhand when I put Zyre on the SALC. With the Harimoto, I can brush and engage the carbon less and get decent arc.

The Harimoto SZLC is deceptively slow unless you engage the carbon so it has Jekyll and Hyde features that I think suit Zyre. Just an expensive solution. I think a heavier Harimoto SALC might have the same result but I hate heavy blades at this stage of my play. I suspect some all wood blades can get to a good place as well.

I just checked ttgearlab and yes it seems the Harimoto szlc is a fast but slower then blades like Viscaria and Timo Boll. Would be interested to know of your findings after you have tested it more!

I had Harimoto szlc. It's much faster than Viscaria and TB

It is good to see alternatives like the Zyre 03.

Honestly, after my recent experience, I find it hard to trust Butterfly anymore. Their quality control is slipping (I received a completely defective, non-tacky Dignics 09C), but the real issue is their attitude.

Despite being a loyal customer for years, their support refused to acknowledge the defect or offer a refund. It became very clear to me that they are now entirely driven by profit, with zero consideration for customer service or product consistency. We need to stop blindly trusting the brand.

I never seen a tacky Dignics 09C, always sticky.

He is comparing Butterfly rubbers though
Ah yeah I get it, and he may even be completey correct, it's just when anyone talks up a product from a brand and they're advertising the brand on their clothes I add salt.
Anyway it was just a joke, I don't know the guy from Adam

What point are you trying to make? You think he's sponsored by or affiliated with Butterfly in any way?
Christ your difficult aren't you, no changes for 2026 no?
Point was 100% obvious and I think I clarified it in a later post.
I kinda knew some stupidity like this would ensue once I'd cleared my ignore list
