I really should just take your set. But to make it slightly interesting and to reveal that I am a fraud lol, I will take He Zhuojia over Hayata and Redziminski over Chen Yuanyu. The rest I take your picks, though I think Dang is also susceptible.Get your picks in!!!! (or next round, or one after that, just get em in!!!)

this match looked like an amateur match where both sides hit the net too oftenMS R32
Poret 3-2 QD (11) (-12, -8, 9, 9, 8)
How many points did Poret drop due to service call?
Can't wait for QD to blame you-name-it again.

Everyone is learning TTR. That said, I am a bit annoyed at this "you can only challenge a serve on one dimension" thing. To me once the challenge is made, the whole serve should just be reviewed. The umpire should be sacked. This is an absolute mockery
Yeah, Franziska slowed down and Lebrun kept looking for quality on the ball that wasn't there anymore and never fully adjusted.Great effort from Hursey.
But now crazy long rallies between Franziska and Lebrun A.
Great match: calm and patient Franziska beat a hasty Lebrun.
Tbh I wouldn't like them to fault someone for angle if the umpire has penalised for height.Everyone is learning TTR. That said, I am a bit annoyed at this "you can only challenge a serve on one dimension" thing. To me once the challenge is made, the whole serve should just be reviewed.
The thing is that very often, when a serve is not right, you can tell it is not right, when you are asked to say exactly why it is not right, you are being forced to make an unconscious judgment conscious, which is all well and good for testing reliability, but then encourages the players to just do things hoping the referee gets the call wrong.Tbh I wouldn't like them to fault someone for angle if the umpire has penalised for height.
But the fact that the umpire didn't even look properly for the result in the graphic (it was clearly shown in cm) and didn't know what she was looking at after awarding the point to the opponent for a serve that was twice the height needed really points to an old, not fit for the job umpire who has no business in charge of matches this important. 🤷
Just my rather strong opinion on it all but seeing this absolutely unnecessary interruption at such a crucial point in the deciding set shows the standard of umpiring is way below what is required and is really something that should be addressed. You shouldn't be challenging and doing something like that unless you KNOW you are right!
The umpiring standards need to be raised across the game.
But why not have TTR running in the background automatically for every serve with a green tick ✅ or a red X ❌ appearing on the umpires screen.
In case of red X the umpire can stop the point, green tick everything continues as normal.
As in, use it or discard it but this 'sometimes use it, because the umpires are so bad' looks really silly to me.
Then the umpire shouldn't call fault on specifics, just call fault serve. Make things consistent across the board. What the referee could have been making a point of was the toss height (which is unfortunately measured by many umpires as ball seperation from hand and not as the actual height the ball was tossed, felt low partly because the toss angle wasn't really vertical. But being asked to specify what was wrong, especially when the camera also showed the toss had an illegal angle, again makes the umpire look dumb. And the whole TTR thing, without know how much training they get, it really needs much more cleanup and explanation, even to the fans. If they can make it much more easily digestible to the fans, then the umpires will get it too.
Then the umpire shouldn't call fault on specifics, just call fault serve. Make things consistent across the board. Call
fault serve, check serve on all the rules, and there's the result.
Imagine a police officer halting you for crossing a double line, then checking the camera footage only to see you didn't cross the double line even if you did 200 km/h in a 100 zone... No, they'll halt you and then find out what they can charge you with![]()
