I have a sneaking feeling that FZDs break from CNT duties while playing league in Germany is going to ignite his passion and see him come back for a crack at the Olympics in 2028.
Just my person opinion from watching him in Germany. He seems happy and so I think the lure (and last chance!) of another Olympic medal will be too much for him to ignore.

I think people are prioritizing extreme accuracy (it's not like the umpires are calling vertical serves) over calling marginal horizontal tosses that are close to the limits (25 degrees is still close to 30 degrees). I think MOG's perspective is actually quite tenable if one takes enforcing serve rules seriously.

the umpires have been outstanding, and IMO because they have been calling foul serves, most of the male pro who mostly serve illegally most of the time have been serving much cleaner.
this just proves they are all cheats to be quite frank

i think there has still been a lot of head shielding on high toss serves but that very hard to call from the chair
even calderanos arm has moved out of the way a bit quicker

however how 30 degrees is classed as near vertical is ridiculous. the angle should have been set at 10 degrees
I am particularly pleased because at least one umpire dared to call a serve that was beyond the baseline and above the table (which you could see from a distance was not the case this time, but he was unable to judge that himself from his position) as a fault. He guessed wrong because it was a correct serve, but finally, I would say, those who are (or were) masters of serving above the table will now serve a little better and more legally. We are on the right track!

Players can challenge serve hiding so at the moment. I don't have a problem with umpires not calling that as much.

Well no, of course I'm not sure about it.

But I think it's human nature and especially for real competitors it's very difficult to just walk away.

Put it this way, if it's announced 18 mths from now that FZD at the age of 30 is returning to compete with the CNT I will let be a bit surprised.

Personally I will be more surprised if he doesn't do it but it's like 60/40 in my head.

So many amazing sportsmen have stepped back only to return when the idea of no more elite competition EVER was staring them in the case and the last chance to do it was right in front of them
He's human really - even if some of his TT sometimes suggests otherwise!!!
So, it's definitely possible.....

LYJ is actually faster and better and also a lefty, even if he doesn't play quite the same way. That's the point.
Well yes, that's also my point, more or less.

Like, I'm not saying that LYJ will win. I mean, anyone can lose to WCQ (stating the obvious there!)

But even if he loses I see it being damn close and WCQ having to play his absolute best.
If he does and wins, I'll have been happy to witness that level.
If WCQ doesn't bring his A game, LJY will beat him. He's at that level currently.
Again I'm stating obvious things here. My surprise is that some other people don't see that and believe it's some foregone conclusion that WCQ has this title in the bag.
Given Felix performances this week maybe WCQ doesn't even make the final ....
I cannot see LJY not making it though

So LYJ = Anders Lind in your mind?
Not sure I can take that seriously.
Nope. Using Anders match as a baseline for why LYJ would do fine is just plain lunacy. It's a false equivalence fallacy.

LYJ has failed to do any damage to LSD's armor. TH has almost always comes out on top against LSD. LYJ still screwed TH senseless.

Anders may not be as clean as LYJ, but their approach to game is different. If you are unable to see that, not my problem.

They're opinions dude, not facts were writing down, that goes for both of us.
And it's not lunacy or false equivalency fallacy anything.
You might wish it was, and you may also wish that writing many big fancy words made it so but if YOU cannot see the holes that were on show V Anders then that's actually your issue.
I don't have an issue in that regard.
And it's nothing to do with clean so please, what are you actually talking about.
Lind gave himself a fantastic chance and had WCQ on the ropes. That's a fact whether you can see it or not.
You believing that it's impossible for current form LYJ to do the same is the lunacy.
Let's see how your boy does V Felix or is that already 4-0 is your head?

Speaking like FKL, I see holes in current champ's game. Guess what happened?

It's impossible for current LYJ. He might push the Chu King but it's gonna be 4-2 at most.

I'd give Felix 2 sets, but as always everyone will come up short against the Chu King.

Obviously, WCQ has a tailor made practice partner (HYZ) to practice against LYJ, so it is not like he won't be maximally prepared. But LYJ has been on a stable tear with an incredible playing level. I get that there is a gap between winning and I know WCQ does better against more traditional styles like LYJ but LYJ has been in serious terminator level all year long in singles.

That's entirely fair. I think we are commenting more on LYJ's form than WCQ's greatness and you are doing the opposite. It's all well and good.

Really, always come up short... Cos WCQ is actually unbeaten in WTT ?
I can see now that you're just winding me up. Fair enough! 👍

Btw I have no idea who FKL is? 🤷
In engineering and motoring terms it is a part of the Subaru engine management Fine Knock Learning, which refers to a parameter that indicates how the car is adjusting timing to avoid avoid dreaded Engine Knock.
But I have no idea how any of that relates to our discussion.
Unless you're calling LJY a Subaru and WCQ a Ferrari? 😉
But which is better might depends on whether you're rallying or tracking....

Anyway, all shall be revealed tomorrow.
Having just watched Felix match V LSD again I reckon a Felix V LYJ final for me and I can't call the winner.

When it comes to play against WCQ, it always depends on how long you can maintain your focus and game at its highest level until the deciding point.

FKL is something I came up on the spot. What on earth is fine knock learning? Subaru jargon is so stupid.

WCQ a Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prototype or a BYD Yangwang U9X (well, "to be").

Japanese/European cars = film cameras
Chinese cars = digital cameras

China is going to send out a WANTED notice for antispin players from its provincial squads. And then send some spies to Germany to get the specific antispin from Sabine is using lol.
Dr Neubauer...
