Even replacing Huang Youzheng by Wang Chuqin, I don't they could win against Lebruns today. Maybe Ma Long - WCQ or fully fit LJK - WCQ can win.

I could see that even if I disagree with you. The Lebruns would have won in Doha last year if Alexis wasn't injured I have no doubt in my mind.

All these "call FZD" chants are funny to me. It's quite obvious that the national team is in the past for him, and he just wants to play profitable enjoyable TT without the burden of the CNT on his neck. I say the CNT give him the cold shoulder and focus on getting LSD or even LJK/ZQH (in the rare instance )ready for Olympic singles. They have roughly 2 and a half years to do that. There's still time. And it looks like that's the team's plan anyway.

Watching Lin, I think his game is approaching a tipping point with his forehand. The problem is when you can beat 99% of players with your old style. To me he is making more progress than Harimoto on forcing his forehand into the point.

Does anyone know what sort of rubber Chen Yuanyu uses on the backhand? It seems to have a yellowish sponge. Is it H3 or perhaps a Stiga rubber?

Hybrid K3. Wang Yidi also appears to use it now as well. Might be because of how prevalent the rubber has become throughout Europe.

I'm confident in form Wang + Lin beats in form Lebrun brothers.
I think China has no choice but to play WCQ in the 3 disciplines. Yes, he'll be spent and beat up. But he'll have enough time to rest before and after the Olympics. Doing otherwise is practically giving up whichever event he skips.

These are all opinions, and ultimately I agree with you. But if you watched the finals, thr brothers were making some ridiculous shots and bringing back some ridiculous shots with interest. No shame in losing to that level of play.

It has been a while that there was only one CNT player getting into the semi final. Still the coaches and the governing system of CNT are tough to beat by any other country.

I have a sneaking feeling that FZDs break from CNT duties while playing league in Germany is going to ignite his passion and see him come back for a crack at the Olympics in 2028.
Just my person opinion from watching him in Germany. He seems happy and so I think the lure (and last chance!) of another Olympic medal will be too much for him to ignore.

the umpires have been outstanding, and IMO because they have been calling foul serves, most of the male pro who mostly serve illegally most of the time have been serving much cleaner.
this just proves they are all cheats to be quite frank

i think there has still been a lot of head shielding on high toss serves but that very hard to call from the chair
even calderanos arm has moved out of the way a bit quicker

however how 30 degrees is classed as near vertical is ridiculous. the angle should have been set at 10 degrees

LYJ is actually faster and better and also a lefty, even if he doesn't play quite the same way. That's the point.
