In general Hybrids just don't last a long time. I don't think they make a lot of sense to play with unless you get them for free/cheap, or if you just don't play that often. With that said - relative to the ones out there I think MK/MK Pro do last a little longer than average. They're a lot more consistent sheet to sheet imo than K3, which I've seen just insane variation between one that my friend was using and then one that I bought a and glued. The topsheet barely looked like it was the same rubber.
Have you used them? If so, for what level and style of play would you recommend them? Thanks!

There is not such a versatile rubber on the market like Aurus... topsheet so supple and easy to wrap the ball without massive bat speed, but also rewards big time fast bat speed.

Rubber lasts for HUNDREDS of hours. Not terrible spin reactive, performance does not degrade... decently linear, but explosive on big impacts, easy to manage opponent's spin with a counter or soft forward shot.
Does everything at least 95 out of 100 but none 100 out of 100.

Why does Butterfly do so much marketing for all their rubbers and why do so many people are in luv with them?
How much marketing does Tibhar do for Aurus? I bet I do more marketing for them than they did for the last 15 years it has been on the market.

People OUGHT to be objective and use facts, logic and reasoning... but like some many gullible sheep, people respond to EMOTIONAL arguments... there is science and study in this realm and companies in the know exploit this for good or worse.

It never caught on with pro-level table tennis, which was dominated by tenergy05 at the time. There were pro-player versions of Genius, never saw any of Aurus.

Next big thing: Evolution series.

Aurus, with all its qualities, fell by the wayside. Even worse: Quite shortly after Evolution, Tibhar had Quantum and Quantum S. Like Aurus to Genius, they weren´t a further development of Evolution, but another product line. They just vanished and had not a lot to do with the Quantum X rubbers of now (just like Aurus Prime and Select have nothing to do with the original Aurus series).

And of course the advertising budgets went into the more advanced - and more expensive - new stuff.

Sounds like Rakza 7 to me, so why is Yasakas version pretty much the staple of intermediate table tennis and Tibhars version so underrepresented?

I can say, where Rakza 7 just has regular, soft and now also hard, Aurus has regular, prime, select, soft and sound? I don't even know what any of those mean.

There are two Aurus series.
Aurus (47.5 degree sponge), Aurus Soft (42.5) and Aurus Sound (37.5) appeared a long time ago.
Prime and Select are totally different rubbers, featuring the "thin topsheet for thicker max sponge" concept introduced by Andro with the Rasanter series. Why Tibhar squeezed these rubbers into the Aurus line is their secret.

2011 was a period of transition when ESN switched to water-based glue and the models released that year were sort of the prototypes for the next major wave in 2012, as they were much closer by look and feel.

Tibhar Genius -> Genius+ Optimum -> Aurus -> Evolution
Andro Hexer -> Hexer+ -> Hexer HD -> Rasant
Donic Baracuda -> Acuda S -> Acuda S1 Turbo -> Bluefire M

How’s your content strategy going to be different from EmRatThich aka Copy Mon thru Sat, Paste on PingSunday

While others might focus on daily entertainment or re-sharing catalog specs, Table Tennis Insight is built on community feedback and technical deep-dives. I don’t just copy-paste marketing claims. I cross-reference them with real player experiences, including the negative ones.

My goal isn't to be a daily news feed, but a reliable technical archive for the Tibhar community.

My strategy is simple: Data-driven transparency.

While others might focus on daily entertainment or re-sharing catalog specs, Table Tennis Insight is built on unfiltered community feedback and technical deep-dives. I don’t just copy-paste marketing claims; I cross-reference them with real-world player experiences—including the negatives.

My goal isn't to be a daily news feed, but a reliable technical archive for the Tibhar community. Quality and honesty over daily volume.

English isn’t my first language, so I need to use a few tools to translate from spanish to english and make sure my comments are clear to everyone. But I can assure you that all the information and dedication behind Table Tennis Insight are 100% human. Fortunately, robots don’t use Tibhar rubbers yet, hahaha
