Nagasaki just lost to a chopper. I think I just have to excuse the Japanese girls when they play in China and lose to combination players. Winter is so unlucky that she has to play these girls elsewhere.
You're applying Western values to an East Asian problem which only a select group of Tiebans can truly understand. Nagasaki and Kihara are the chosen ones by the Tiebans and if they aren't part of the LA2028 team that complements Miwa, then it's clearly the scandalous JTTA's fault.

Also, nice dramatic comeback by Yuhi Sakai down 2-9 in the decider to win it 13-11 over France's Romain Ruiz.
There’s a lot to be said about Romain Ruiz’s service!

Contender Taiyuan seems to be the only WTT event she's playing, in 2025 as well

Doing good for sure though, she also helped the national team on their surprising run to bronze last ETTC
Some of the Chinese who play for other countries like to go back to China for WTT events. Li Jie is already a constant in French League, I doubt she will return full time to WTT unless she wants to do Olympics and honestly, she doesn't need to play much to have good results.

Lukaaaaaa!!!
Beautiful match.
No idea why XP kept trying to loop like 3 times in a row to his anti
In the China National Games I believe he lost in singles to an older player but I’m uncertain if he was using pips/anti or just had an unconventional style of play which XP could’t countered.

uh ??? is veteran LI Jie trying to make a comeback ???
Sounds like she will take it slow, maybe in a year or two.

“My last international match was in 2019, so I had almost five years away from competition. Now that my child is a little older, it’s easier to travel and play again, and I still love the sport, so coming back felt natural,” said Jie LI.

“I had to stop playing for a while because of COVID-19. Now I value every match even more and want to be a good example for my son. Both Britt and I came back after breaks, this is our first European Championship since returning,” she added.

How Hirano/Kihara lost G2 to Shi/Han is beyond comprehension

Friendship across the table
https://www.fisu.net/2025/07/24/friendship-across-the-table/
“I was so angry,” Wong recalled with a laugh. “I hated her—but I remembered her.” They crossed paths again in 2023 at a youth tournament in Qatar—still on opposite sides of the table, and little more than familiar faces.

Zhang Cheng was coaching Hirano/Kihara for doubles but not around for the current WS. I guess he's only helping out on adhoc basis?

Wow pleasantly surprised by how she dismantled Batra.

Was that even Zhang Cheng? I think that's 水谷良紀/Mizutani Yoshiki of Top Nagoya that Kihara now plays under.
https://tleague.jp/team/top-nagoya/player/

That's why there's something wrong with Kihara.
