Great video, many thanks!

I've got a few pistol grips, always a lot of fun. I bought one of these newer shape Sanwei ones too, but the cheapo premade one that comes with Taiji T88 on both sides. Not great rubber, but the blade is surprisingly good! It's absolutely the closest to a standard shakehand feel that I've used so far, more like a Nittaku Tenaly but with an offset handle.

As a shakehand player (who played penhold for the first 12 months, many years ago now) - this pistol shape is the best I've tried so far in terms of helping the FH side while not seriously impairing the BH. And it's possible to pop standard-cut rubbers on there, if you don't mind a little wood showing, Vicar.

I don't understand the little winglet flap at the butt end of the handle. What is that supposed to be for?

Yeah I had to look it up. It's suppose to somehow keep the grip from rotating in your hand? IDK about that. To me it seems completely useless. Shakehand blades don't have this. I can feel it when I'm holding the paddle. If I stick with this long-term, I'm quite tempted to Dremel sand it off. Still making up my mind. But this part doesn't bug me that much? Do I think it helps at all? No.
